Kanye West tops the nominations with seven; Adele, Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars each garner six nods; and Lil Wayne and Skrillex each are up for five awards. BURBANK, Calif., Nov. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy and the whole Muppet gang are back and ready for their felt-frenzied close-up, as Walt Disney Records is set to release the Spanish language version of the soundtrack to Disney's Los Muppets, the brand new big-screen adventure starring Jason Segel, Amy Adams and the beloved Muppets. Featuring songs written by Bret McKenzie ("Flight of the Conchords"), updated versions of Muppet classics and familiar hits given the Muppet treatment, the Spanish language soundtrack arrives in stores and at online retailers December 6, 2011.

McKenzie, who created, co-wrote, executive produced and starred in the hit HBO television series "Flight of the Conchords," is the music supervisor, as well as the writer/producer of four original songs, including "Life's a Happy Song," "Let's Talk About Me," "Man or Muppet" and "Me Party." McKenzie also produced "Pictures in My Head" and "Rainbow Connection."

"Music was always an integral part of the 'The Muppet Show' and Muppet films," McKenzie said. "It's hard to think of the Muppets without thinking of songs like 'Rainbow Connection' or 'Mah Na Mah Na.' The Muppets don't sound like anyone else and that's what's great about them. The Muppets turn in new renditions of "The Muppet Show Theme" (co-written by Jim Henson, the song opened and closed "The Muppet Show" for five seasons in the US and UK, from 1976-1981), the treasured Muppet classic and Academy Award ®-nominated "Rainbow Connection," (penned by Oscar®-winning composer Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher) as well as the original 1969 version of "Mah Na Mah Na." The felt gloves come off in new Muppet interpretations of Cee Lo Green's "Forget You" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

Also included are the original versions of Paul Simon's 1972 hit "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard" and Starship's 1985 chart-topper "We Built This City." The album also features 15 dialogue interstitials from the film.

Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Randy Scott drew early inspiration from his father's vinyl collection, which included B.B. King, Ray Charles, and Big Momma Thornton. After learning guitar chords from a relative at age 11, Scott went on to graduate from the Guitar Institute. After a few years of struggling and frustration with the music business, Scott stopped playing completely and sold every guitar he had. "When I stopped playing music, all I knew was that I wanted to get far away from it. I cut my hair, worked for a computer company and turned all my radio stations to AM talk radio. I felt that the music world had let me down, so I wanted to distance myself from it."

Nine years later Scott wandered into a Guitar Center where a store manager heard him playing and suggested he enter their annual King of the Blues competition, the nationwide search for the next great undiscovered blues guitar player. "We have been focused on the European market for a while because that is where the (smaller) boats are selling. Our market in U.S. tends to be more 76 and above. That's where we really see the most interest," said Mr. Sowerbutts.

The interview hinted that the upcoming release of the Horizon 110 may spark interest in the United States, which has traditionally favored models such as the Westport 112, Hargrave 110 and Lazzara 110.

The interview confirmed a relentless drive by Horizon to release new models, even as rivals downsize and others such as Lazzara, use new capital cash injections to focus on developing smaller, entry-level luxury yachts.

Mobile is the home of America's first Mardi Gras celebration, and the MoonPie is the favored "throw" of the hundreds of Mardi Gras maskers riding the floats during the extensive Mardi Gras parade season. MoonPies were first thrown from Mardi Gras floats in 1952. Today, Mobile consumes more than four million MoonPies annually, and has adopted the delicious treat as an informal emblem. For the MoonPie Over Mobile celebration, this southern city has teamed up with Chattanooga Bakery, the maker of the iconic MoonPie marshmallow sandwich, to create the largest electronic MoonPie as the featured attraction for its New Year's Eve celebration. This is the third year an electronic version of the delicious treat will light up downtown Mobile.

Mardi Gras was first discovered in the New World in 1703 at Twenty-Seven Mile Bluff, the first settlement in Mobile. The first masked parading society, the Cowbellion de Rakin society, was formed in 1830. Mobile currently has more than 50 parading and non-parading organizations. An estimated 850,000 people attend parades, parties and other organizations associated with the carnival festivities. This number will likely increase with the enhanced MoonPie Over Mobile celebration.

Artists to preview new albums on the Croisette

PARIS, Nov. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The inaugural midem Festival today announces the initial line-up of international artists who are set to rock Cannes during three days of live performances, January 28-30, 2012, marking the first time that midem concerts have been open to a paying public.

The combo of international headliners and up-and-coming artists includes The Ting Tings, 2 Many DJ's, Selah Sue, Shaka Ponk, Brigitte, Stuck in the Sound, OrelSan and Skip The Use. They'll play in a specially-constructed, 3,500 capacity venue set up on Cannes' Palm Beach Croisette esplanade.

With hit titles "That's not my name" and "Shut up and let me go," British dance-oriented indie pop duo The Ting Tings' debut album "We Started Nothing" went straight to #1 in the UK charts in May 2008, selling over two million albums worldwide, while their single, "That's Not My Name" also entered the UK charts at #1.

The midem Festival appearance kicks off The Ting Tings (Katie White and Jules De Martino) 2012 European tour and will feature tracks from their up-coming second album "Sounds From Nowheresville."

International Belgian stars of the electro stage 2manyDJs, aka Soulwax groove-gurus David and Stephen Dewaele, have put together a collection of 24, one-hour remixes of classic hits from around the world. Remixing 45 songs together in one hour of music is one thing. Making that hour a consistent exploration of the history of pop music is quite another. The Dewaele brothers' work includes acclaimed remixes of The Stooges' 'No Fun' with Salt 'N' Pepa's 'Push It' and Basement Jaxx's 'Where's Your Head At' with Emerson Lake & Palmer's 'Theme From Peter Gun.' 21 year old Belgian singer Selah Sue said she was not destined to become an artist. "I grew up in a really little town in Belgium, and none of my family was into music." No stranger to controversy, some of his most radical lyrics have seen him banned from festivals and stages. However, his writing style and arrangements have garnered him a faithful following among hip hop and rap fans. Released in September 2011, "Le chant des sirenes" is OrelSan's second album.

Driven by their emblematic lead singer Mat Bastard, the French electro-rock band from Lille, Skip The Use, is known and praised for robust and wildly entertaining stage performances. In 2011, Skip The Use launched a special blog detailing the recording of their new album "Sound From The Shadow" and up-coming album "Can Be Late," scheduled for release in early 2012.
