DALLAS and FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- KXAS / NBC 5 continues to be viewers first choice for news in Dallas - Fort Worth. The station's early morning and late evening newscasts consistently dominate the competition with both telecasts finishing #1 in the November sweeps, which ended yesterday.

NBC 5 Today from 5-7 a.m. and NBC 5 News at 10 p.m. lead the competition in both household and person 25-54 audience estimates as reported by Nielsen Media Research. The margin of victory for NBC 5 Today from 5-7 a.m. is 25%.

Viewers' choice of NBC 5 News at 10 p.m. is becoming legendary. The program is about to conclude its 5th year as Dallas - Fort Worth's #1 local newscast, Monday - Friday. Nearly 300,000 people wrap up their day with NBC 5 News at 10 p.m. During 2006, the newscast finished #1 among persons 25-54 every month through November.

Additional highlights from the November ratings period:

* NBC 5 First at Four is the #1 newscast in its time period in both
households and persons 25-54, a position it has maintained for ten of
eleven months this year.

* NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams concludes it third consecutive
month as the number one choice network news choice among persons 25-54.
The newscast airs at 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, on NBC 5.

* NBC 5 News at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. continue to deliver the information
North Texans seek each weekday evening. In November, an average 226,000
homes and 284,000 persons 2+ viewed the combined newscasts.

* Viewers want constant access to local news and information and NBC 5 is
responding on the internet with nbc5i.com. North Texans clicked to
nbc5i.com at record levels in November with page views exceeding 15.4
million. On election night, November 7, nbc5i.com was home to continuous
online political coverage featuring live reports and interviews
delivered directly to desktops.

* NBC 5's Weather Plus 24/7 digital weather channel became available to
more North Texans in November. The channel offers continuous local
weather information provided by NBC 5 meteorologists along with national
weather forecasts. Weather Plus can be seen over-the-air on digital
channel 5.2 or several digital cable channels including Time Warner 365,
Charter 105 and Verizon FiOS 860.

* The Weather Plus Live Online desktop application is now available for
downloading from nbc5i.com. Weather Plus Live Online provides up-to-the-
second weather information from NBC 5 with the click of a mouse.

Nielsen Media Research began using Local People Meters (TM) in North Texas this year. Local People Meters (TM) report daily age-specific demographic ratings -- information that was previously only available several weeks after the conclusion of "sweep" periods. Advertisers are particularly interested in age demographic information, such as persons 25-54.

The November sweeps period began November 2 and ended November 29, 2006. Nielsen Media Research produces the ratings data presented. One household rating point represents approximately 23,787 area homes.

WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 Wins November Sweeps

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- WXYZ-TV is the Detroit television market's number one station, sign-on/sign-off, according to the November 2006 Nielsen Media Research rating survey which ended Wednesday. WXYZ-TV garnered a 5.2 rating/12.4 share, versus WDIV's 4.2 rating/9.8 share, WJBK's 3.8 rating/8.9 share and WWJ's 2.9 rating/7 share. In addition to winning sign-on/sign-off in television household ratings, WXYZ was also metro Detroit's number one station in delivery of all key demographics including Women 18-49, Persons 18-49, Women 25-54 and Persons 25-54.

Leading the way to WXYZ-TV's November rating victory was the dominant performance of Channel 7's Action News. Action News was the number one newscast in the Detroit market for noon news, 5pm news and for the entire 5- 7:30pm early evening news block. In addition, WXYZ's early morning (5-6am) and late news (11-11:35pm) experienced significant year-to-year growth, registering a 15% and 14% ratings increase, respectively.

Action News at Noon, anchored by Robbie Timmons and Carolyn Clifford was Detroit's number one noon news. Airing 12n-1pm, Action News is Detroit's only one-hour noon newscast and outdelivers both WDIV and WJBK. Action News delivered a 5.0 rating/16 share, versus WDIV's 3.5 rating/11 share and WJBK's 2.4 rating/8 share. In addition to winning top honors in television household ratings, WXYZ's noon news also outdelivered all mid-day news competition in every key demographic category, nearly equaling the combined delivery of WDIV and WJBK among Women 18-49 and 25-54.

WXYZ's 5pm Action News was the dominant number one, posting a commanding victory over WDIV and WJBK. 5pm Action News garnered an 8.6 rating/18.5 share, versus WDIV's 6.2 rating/13.2 share and WJBK's 4.1 rating/8 share. This is the twenty-sixth consecutive rating book that 5pm Action News has placed first. Action News also dominated demographic delivery among 5pm news audiences. WXYZ outdelivered WDIV by 68% (4.7 vs. 2.8) in Women 25-54 viewers and more than doubled WJBK (4.7 vs. 2.2).

6pm Action News with Diana Lewis and Stephen Clark was the number one rated newscast among Women 25-54, topping WDIV by 8% and WJBK by 52%. For the entire early evening news block (5-7:30pm), WXYZ outdelivers WDIV and WJBK in virtually every key demographic, especially Women 25-54 where WXYZ's margin over WDIV was 32% and 71% over WJBK.

11pm Action News with Diana Lewis and Stephen Clark generated an 8.8 rating/16 share. WDIV garnered a 10.4 rating/19 share. WJBK's 10pm News placed third in late news, garnering a 5.5 rating/9 share. Demographically, Action News fared particularly well, reducing WDIV's late news advantage substantially in a year-to-year comparison. Among Women 25-54, WDIV's advantage has been reduced to less than a rating point, versus a 3.6 rating point advantage that WDIV held one year ago.

In non-news programming, WXYZ-TV also turned in top rated performances. WXYZ-TV's morning block programming (9-10am Regis & Kelly, 10-11am Martha Stewart and 11am-12n The View) were all number one in their respective time periods. ABC Soap Operas were also number one across the board, beating WDIV and WJBK combined in all key demos.

At 4pm, WXYZ's Oprah delivered an 8.2 rating/20 share. WDIV's Ellen DeGeneres delivered a 2.9 rating/7 share and WJBK's Judge Judy garnered a 3.6 rating/ 9 share. Oprah outdelivers the household ratings of WDIV and WJBK combined and tops WDIV and WJBK's prime time ratings among Women 25-54 (Oprah 5.8 rating vs. WDIV's 4.7 and WJBK's 3.9).

ABC Prime Time programming was number one in November 2006, averaging a 9.4 rating/15 share. Year-to-year, ABC prime programming is up 3% in the Detroit television market. WDIV/NBC placed second in prime time programming, generating a 7.3 rating/11 share. Year-to-year, NBC prime is down 8% on WDIV. Year-to-year, FOX prime on WJBK is down 11%.

Each local rating point equals approximately 19,360 households; share represents the percentage of TV sets tuned into a program.

Lifetime Orders Production of 'Army Wives,' from The Mark Gordon Company and Touchstone Television

Lifetime Orders Production of 'Army Wives,' from The Mark Gordon Company and Touchstone Television

New Ensemble Drama Series Starring Kim Delaney ('NYPD Blue') and Catherine Bell ('Jag') to Premiere March 2007 on Lifetime Television

13 Episodes Ordered from Creative Team behind 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Criminal Minds'

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Lifetime Television has ordered production of 13 episodes of "Army Wives" from The Mark Gordon Company and Touchstone Television. Premiering in March 2007, the new ensemble drama series about the struggles, dreams and friendships of a diverse group of women -- and one man -- living with their spouses and families on an active army post and the pressures and traditions of the military on those who are left behind while their partners serve their country was announced today by Susanne Daniels, President, Entertainment, Lifetime Networks.

Filmed on location in Charleston, South Carolina, the series stars Kim Delaney ("NYPD Blue"), Sally Pressman ("Shark"), Brigid Brannagh ("Over There"), Brian McNamara ("The O.C."), Sterling K. Brown ("Starved"), Wendy Davis ("Commander in Chief"), Drew Fuller ("Charmed") and Catherine Bell ("JAG"). Mark Gordon ("Grey's Anatomy," "Criminal Minds") and The Mark Gordon Company's President of Production, Deborah Spera ("Criminal Minds") serve as executive producers. The pilot, directed by Ben Younger ("Prime"), was written by Katherine Fugate ("The Prince & Me"), who created the series and also serves as executive producer. The series is based on the book Under the Sabers: The Unwritten Code of Army Wives by Tanya Biank, who serves as a consultant. "Army Wives" is produced by Touchstone Television.

"We're pleased to bring an entertaining and relevant drama series in 'Army Wives' to our viewers. This show will resonate strongly with our audience as Mark, Deb and Katherine have created authentic, relatable and powerful characters set in a highly charged and complex environment," said Daniels in making the announcement.

"Building on Touchstone Television's cable business model and growth strategy to produce on all platforms, this deal is a key opportunity to expose the studio's quality content to new audiences," said Mark Pedowitz, president, Touchstone Television. Adding, "Lifetime has proven a crucial partner in the expansion of Touchstone's hits 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Grey's Anatomy' into syndication and we plan to aggressively develop this engrossing original drama into a franchise success for the network."

In "Army Wives," an unlikely tribe is formed when four women and one man create a bond based on one common theme: they all love a soldier who could die at any moment. Yet, they are all isolated by secrets that buck the armed forces system. They include: Claudia Joy Holden (Delaney), strong and respected wife of Colonel Michael Holden (McNamara), who the other women admire; Denise Sherwood (Bell), a devoted homemaker to her Major husband and teenage son, who harbors a shocking secret; Pamela Moran (Brannagh), a former cop, now earning money as a surrogate, who must keep her secret or face blackballing by the other women in their tight knit community; Roxy LeBlanc (Pressman), a feisty woman from the wrong side of the tracks who marries a soldier, Trevor (Fuller), after only knowing him for a few days. Now instantly living with her children on the post, she quickly experiences the politics of being housed in an ultra competitive environment. The "wives" also includes one husband, Roland Burton (Brown), who is trying to adapt to his Lieutenant Colonel wife's (Davis) post-traumatic stress syndrome after her return from the war.

Executive Producer Mark Gordon stated, "All of our shows are driven by characters that audiences fall in love with and look forward to immersing themselves in every week. Katherine Fugate has created a show that moves you to laugh, cry, and thoroughly entertain the audience."

Said Creator/Executive Producer Katherine Fugate, "This entire experience has been magic-filled, starting with the opportunity to tell the often-untold and unseen stories of female (and male) empowerment from the 'Army Wives' point of view, rather than that of the soldiers at war. Then, working with Mark Gordon, Deb Spera and Marshall Persinger, as well as the executives at Touchstone Television and finally Lifetime Television, all of whom have been so nurturing and highly supportive in our shared vision to tell the best stories we can tell. Lastly, I cannot be more thrilled with the cast we've assembled, all unique in their voice and talent. This truly is an opportunity of a lifetime and I can't wait for it all to unfold."

Touchstone Television has established itself as one of Hollywood's leading production companies, producing critically acclaimed, quality entertainment to the television industry. Since the Touchstone banner first appeared on the sitcom "Golden Girls" over 20 years ago, the studio has produced many of the most recognizable television programs in the world. Currently, "Grey's Anatomy," "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" are international sensations while "Ugly Betty" and "Brothers & Sisters" have launched as two of the most popular new series this season. Touchstone is currently in production on an additional 13 programs including fan favorites "According to Jim" and "Scrubs..." both in their sixth year on television, the popular CBS dramas "Criminal Minds" and "Ghost Whisperer," ABC Family's most watched original series "Kyle XY," and ABC's late-night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Touchstone Television is part of Disney-ABC Television Group, a division of The Walt Disney Company.

Lifetime is the leader in women's television and one of the top-rated basic cable television networks. A diverse, multi-media company, Lifetime is committed to offering the highest quality entertainment and information programming, and advocating a wide range of issues affecting women and their families. Lifetime Television, LMN, Lifetime Real Women, Lifetime Home Entertainment and Lifetime Online (www.lifetimetv.com) are part of Lifetime Entertainment Services, a 50/50 joint venture of The Hearst Corporation and The Walt Disney Company.

Warner Bros. Records Teams With Stickam(TM) for Next Generation Live Broadcast From the Set of Jamie Kennedy's New Music Video

Warner Bros. Records Teams With Stickam(TM) for Next Generation Live Broadcast From the Set of Jamie Kennedy's New Music Video

Kennedy Takes Behind-The-Scenes To New Level of Interactivity With First Fully Participatory All Day Broadcast Event

BURBANK, Calif., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time ever, Warner Bros. Records and Stickam(TM), the Internet's most powerful video communications player, are teaming up to provide fans the unique experience of being able to watch the making of Jamie Kennedy and Stu Stone's latest music video all day on Saturday December 2nd in New York City. The two stars are filming the music video for their Internet hit "Circle Circle Dot Dot" from their album and MTV show "Blowin' Up."

Kennedy and Stu Stone, along with the director and cast, will provide real-time, behind-the-scenes access to the shoot using Stickam's breakthrough technology. Far more immersive than a traditional live broadcast or Webcast, the "Circle Circle Dot Dot" event brings viewers closer to the action than ever before by allowing them to dynamically interact with Kennedy and Stone using Stickam's revolutionary video chat tools. The technology also allows fans to see how a music video is shot, the entire process, uncensored.

Fans can logon to http://www.stickam.com/ and http://jkssrecords.com/ this Saturday and will have access until the production wraps for the day. The video is being directed by Wormseye Films.

"The social networking generation is all about being hands-on, whether it's designing their own t-shirts online, meeting up with friends on the fly through location-based, cell phone tools or keeping track of their favorite bands on a second-to-second basis," said Hideki Kishioka, CEO of Stickam. "The traditional concept of a live broadcast with a passive viewing audience is becoming increasingly outdated for this group, which places a huge premium on instant interactivity. We are extremely pleased that Warner Bros. and Jamie Kennedy have chosen Stickam to create this breakthrough, behind-the- scenes broadcast and anticipate a great response."

With over 200,000 users, Stickam(TM) is one of the Internet's fastest growing broadcasting and social networking Web sites. The site features free video chat for members and provides entertainers with a unique way to share their live performances or events with fans.

'Secrets of Mary Magdalene' to Premiere on Video-On-Demand this Holiday Season

'Secrets of Mary Magdalene' to Premiere on Video-On-Demand this Holiday Season

Multi-City Radio Give Away of Dan Burstein's Latest Nonfiction Book

NEW YORK, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- "Secrets of Mary Magdalene," the Hidden Treasures' production based on best selling authors Dan Burstein and Arne J. de Keijzer's nonfiction book, will premiere December 1st on video-on-demand across the country on cable, satellite, and other digital platforms.

The documentary film strips away the veils of history to reveal the flesh and blood woman who was Jesus' foremost apostle and possibly the love of his life. "Mary Magdalene's story -- and the new thinking about her role in history -- reminds us of the essential value of compassion, tolerance and the respect for individuals that reaches beyond the narrow confines of one gender, one religious group, or one belief system," said Dan Burstein, co-editor and contributor to "Secrets of Mary Magdalene."

In the spirit of the holidays, local radio stations in major markets will be giving away hardcover copies of the CDS Books recently published "Secrets of Mary Magdalene" in an on-air promotion scheduled for December and January.

Destiny Media Reports Fiscal 2006 Financial Results

Destiny Media Reports Fiscal 2006 Financial Results

Revenues up 15% From Prior Year, Record MPE Adoption, New Versions Clipstream and Radio Destiny Software

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Destiny Media (BULLETIN BOARD: DSNY) is pleased to announce results for the year ending August 31, 2006. Revenues increased 15% over the prior year. Expenses jumped 8%, but the net loss fell by 11%. The increase in expenses reflects growing adoption of the Promo Only MPE system, which was being offered on a subsized trial basis during the period to build critical mass with radio.

Destiny is a market leader in providing software for "streaming" and "secure digital distribution" of digital media content, such as music or videos. Streaming is analogous to radio or TV and secure digital distribution is similar to distributing music CD's or DVD's.

Streaming products include Clipstream, which embeds audio or video into a web page and Radio Destiny which enables a live internet radio broadcast.

Secure digital media software products include: the Promo Only MPE music preview service, the MPE online music store software and PODDS, an online music store for DJs. PODDS is also tied into internet enabled jukeboxes which use the system to receive the latest music.

The Promo Only MPE service is the US music industry standard to securely transfer new music tracks from record labels to trusted recipients including radio station program directors and station managers.

Destiny first entered into a development agreement with Universal Music Group in June 2004. This was followed by a launch at the National Association of Broadcasting show in October 2004 and an offering to other major label groups when version 1.1 launched in March 2005.

Since then, an additional 31,000 songs have gone through the system from over 700 labels, representing 28 million transactions. The system is widely embraced by the industry, with paid agreements in place with five labels and strategic relationships established with many industry leaders, including Radio and Records, Clear Channel's subsidiary Mediabase, All Access and Promo Only.

In reaction to feedback from the labels and radio recipients, Destiny has released several upgrades of the system this year, adding Mac support, Spanish support for Latin stations (and templates to support other languages), licensed iPod support and support for downloading music videos. As the labels stop sending physical CD's and the system becomes mission critical, it is important that the system be extremely reliable. The server infrastructure has been upgraded to two physical locations with connection speeds up to a gigabit for scalability to global usage. Preliminary international pilots began this fall in Europe and Australia.

In September, Destiny announced Canada's first online music store for commercial users. This store is based on a new suite of programs for providing encoding, administration, database access and iTunes style player access to the storefront. The company expects to license this software suite to other companies wanting to set up online music stores.

In November, we announced a patent has been filed on our digital watermarking technology. This technique will embed information into sound recordings that identify the originator of illegal copies. It is unique in that it survives analog duplication and compression, but is not audible to the human ear. This is our second pending patent in the music space.

Clipstream was featured in Quirks, the market research industry trade journal in July and we have formed relationships with a number of top companies in the market research vertical, including Global Market Insite (GMI), which provides solutions to 21 of the top 25 market research companies.

In June, the company announced an IP-TV version of Clipstream, which allows consumers to watch television from remote locations. The customer can log into their home PC from any location, anywhere in the world and watch live TV and change channels from their web browser.

Other top verticals for Clipstream include advertising, surveillance applications, podcasting and user generated content. With the recent success of video sites such as You Tube, many customers have approached us to set up "user generated content" and "file sharing" networks. A new Clipstream server offering, featuring real time web based encoding is anticipated to be released in December.

Two new streaming products are due in Q2: A major upgrade of Clipstream, featuring 30 frames per second and full screen video and a CD quality social network based around Radio Destiny and Clipstream Live Video.

Comments Destiny CEO, Steve Vestergaard, "The focus this year was on R&D and adoption of MPE to get the seeds in place for 2007. There are so many synergies among our products that we have become the 'one stop shop' for content owners who plan to embrace internet technologies.

"We are excited about our new streaming offerings and their potential to grow our business. In addition, our secure digital distribution revenue is expected to increase significantly in 2007 as labels continue to reduce the number of physical CD's they send to radio and the transaction based revenue model is fully implemented. Earnings in 2007 should be strong. Much of the expense associated with the system is already being incurred, so we expect new MPE revenue will be high margin."

Zogby International and American Bible Society First Amendment Poll Reveals Powerful Evidence of America's Desire for Religion and Values

Zogby International and American Bible Society First Amendment Poll Reveals Powerful Evidence of America's Desire for Religion and Values

The American Bible Society releases findings that, contrary to popular belief, the public is interested in moral-infused entertainment options on both the small and silver screens

NEW YORK, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Bible Society, (www.americanbible.org) believed deeply in America's desire for morality and values in television and popular culture and programming. To back up that belief, the Bible Society set out to turn its theory into fact. The Bible Society and Zogby conducted a poll testing the hypotheses of the demand for decency in America. The results indicate that more religious values, references to the Bible, and less sex and violence shown on television is desired by 85% of American viewers, contrary to what most television networks and ad executives relay. The poll, entitled "What Is More Offensive on Television: Religion or Sex and Violence?" was conducted by Zogby International from 11/17 through 11/20/2006.

"Here at the Bible Society, we advocate for the Bible and its place and role in society. We firmly believe that the Bible plays a critical role in the ongoing development of our culture and the social fabric of our country," said Dr. Paul Irwin, President and CEO of the American Bible Society. "Although America is a nation of many faiths, and in some instances no faith, Americans still believe that the Bible's teachings and values are an essential part of our common character."

With their theory proven true in the results of the Zogby poll, the Bible Society aims to open up a debate on values and faith-based messages in popular culture. Following this poll, three more will follow, challenging television networks and movie producers with the question, "How do you support your programming decisions to cut most faith-based references?" These poll results negate the commonly held reasoning of advertising and marketing professionals who argue that continued censorship of television shows and movies by removing faith and value based messages will yield higher profits. These results send the resounding message to "Give me a choice," and the American Bible Society is challenging media executive to heed their call.

Founded in 1816 and headquartered in New York City, the mission of the American Bible Society is to make the Bible available to every person in a language and format each can understand and afford, so that all people may experience its life-changing message. On Wednesday, Dec. 13, TCM will turn its attention to Comden in
an already scheduled night of collaborations with Stanley Donen,
who is December's TCM Spotlight. Comden was best known for

Four-Day Celebration Provides Funds for Rebuilding Together

NEW YORK, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Santa Claus is coming to town and he's got a new set of wheels this holiday season. To kick-off the "HGTV Make it Home for the Holidays" homecoming celebration, fifty-one Santas traded in their reindeer and sleighs for Pedi cab rides. Each Santa, bedecked to represent the 50 states and the District of Columbia made their way "home" to New York City's Greeley Square Park where they were joined by an all-star group of designers and hosts as well as HGTV president Judy Girard.

"Today we are celebrating the many wonderful aspects of home, family, friendship, the importance of giving and the spirit of community," said Girard. "The pedaling Santas remind us that this is the time of year when no matter where we are, no matter what it takes, we all need to make it home for the holidays."

As part of the opening day festivities, the Santas transported a $25,000 donation to Rebuilding Together, the nation's largest all-volunteer home rehabilitation organization whose mission is to ensure that homeowners in need can live in warmth, safety and independence. Singer/actress and entertainer Diana DeGarmo as well as Rebuilding Together chairperson, Angela Sparks-Beddoe and board member, Jacquie Lawing Ebert, were on-hand to accept the check. From Thursday, November 30 through Friday, December 22, the public can help double the HGTV donation to Rebuilding Together by visiting http://www.hgtv.com/makeithome.

In addition to carrying the check, the Santas also brought gift cards from Best Buy, the nation's largest consumer electronics retailer, and other gifts such as tool box gift sets for presentation to Rebuilding Together.

"We are grateful to HGTV for its generosity," said Rebuilding Together president and CEO Gary A. Officer. "These thoughtful gifts and donations will go a long way in helping homeowners in need across the nation -- particularly the elderly, disabled and families -- live in warmth, safety and independence through Rebuilding Together house rehabilitations and modifications."

During the four-day celebration, which will be open to the public from Thursday, November 30 through Sunday, December 3 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., visitors to the HGTV "home" at 33rd Street and Broadway can record free personalized holiday video greetings with the network's popular on-air talent, including David Bromstad, HGTV Design Star and Color Splash; John and Jimmy DiResta from Hammered with John & Jimmy DiResta; George Gray, What's With That House?; Danielle Hirsch, Color Splash; Steve and Jim Kelley, Junk Brothers; Michael Johnson, Lisa LaPorta, Taniya Nayak, Clive Pearse, Monica Pedersen and Shane Tallant, Designed to Sell; Gail O'Neill, Mission: Organization; Eric Stromer, Over Your Head, Angelo Surmelis, 24 Hour Design and Steve Watson, Don't Sweat It and Vern Yip who will host a new series on HGTV in 2007.
