For the first time in its illustrious history, the world-renowned Virgin Festival, sponsored by Virgin Mobile, will be taking place in the United States at Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore, Maryland, and WORLDSPACE will be on hand ensuring subscribers don't miss a beat. WORLDSPACE's UPop will be broadcasting live (channel 29) reports from the festival as well as exclusive backstage interviews all day Saturday, September 23. WORLDSPACE will also feature recorded playback throughout the month on its popular channels Bob (channel 177), Spin (channel 44), and Voyager (channel 11). The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Who will be headlining this one-day music extravaganza with additional performances by The Flaming Lips, Gnarls Barkley, The Killers, Scissor Sisters and many more.

Each show will feature a different album ranging from Led Zeppelin to Led Zeppelin II to Houses of the Holy to In Through the Out Door. In addition, Orbit Rock will feature concerts by Led Zeppelin, the group's front man, Robert Plant, and lead guitarist, Jimmy Page, throughout the month.
Just when subscribers thought it couldn't get any better, WORLDSPACE will pay tribute to one of its flagship Indian markets by celebrating the 50th anniversary of the modern state of Karnataka with coverage of the World Kannada Conference (WKC) 2006 in Baltimore.
