Badgley Mischka Announces Sharon Stone to Star in Its New Advertising Campaign

NEW YORK, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Iconix Brand Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:ICON) (the "Company" or "Iconix") announced today that Academy Award(R)-nominated actress Sharon Stone, famous for her work in Basic Instinct, Catwoman and Casino and a star of the upcoming film Bobby, will appear in its Badgley Mischka(R) brand's new advertising campaign. The campaign will debut in October issues of magazines including Vogue, Elle and InStyle among others. The ads follow the hugely successful launch campaign of last season featuring Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen.

Ms. Stone commented, "I've known Mark and James for many years ever since they brought their gorgeous gowns to my house and spread them all over my living room. Since then, I've always thought of wearing their dress like going to a great party -- they're fun, elegant and intricately detailed."

Commenting on the creative concept, Dari Marder, Creative Director, stated, "Pairing a sexy icon like Ms. Stone against a lavish Hollywood backdrop created the sense of dramatic glamour that Badgley Mischka is known for."

Shot in Hancock Park in Los Angeles, the gowns are set against a backdrop of the luxurious former estate of Dorothy Chandler, the legendary philanthropist who is credited with rejuvenating the performing arts in Los Angeles. The estate has played host to four presidents including President John F. Kennedy, Jr. and is filled with celebrated artwork, some of which is featured in the campaign.

Ms. Stone is featured wearing six looks from the Couture Collection in the campaign which was created by Iconix's in-house marketing team. The looks include Deanna, a black shirred countessa gown, Agatha, a black/amethyst scarf and ribbon gown and Augusta, a ruby crinkled organza and velvet tango gown.

The ads were photographed by world renowned photographer Gilles Bensimon, who has worked with Ms. Stone previously. After completing the creative shoot, Bensimon shot a portrait of Ms. Stone and her three sons, including her newly adopted baby boy.

Ms. Stone is also noted for her many philanthropic efforts including her work with amFAR, and along with her sister, Kelly Stone, established Planet Hope, an organization that provides medical care as well as counseling to homeless and abused children and their families. Badgley Mischka, in support of Ms. Stone and Planet Hope, has committed $100,000 to Planet Hope's worthy mission.
