Jim Peterik's PRIDE OF LIONS Set to Roar
OAKBROOK TERRACE, Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Jim Peterik's long-awaited American return to the music that took him to the top of the charts in the 80's happens on Saturday, October 7th at 7:30 pm at the Dorothy Menker Theatre at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois. For many, the powerful sound of American Melodic Rock, as forged by groups like SURVIVOR, KANSAS, JOURNEY, BON JOVI, and TOTO remains a favorite. One of the chief architects of that genre is JIM PETERIK (the founder of Survivor), In Survivor, Jim made a sound that resonates to this day. Having left Survivor behind, Jim is now chiefly known as the voice of the legendary IDES OF MARCH. But Survivor fans have been waiting for Jim to return to the music that has left his greatest legacy. They need not wait any longer. As the leader, co- lead singer, guitarist, and writer of the group PRIDE OF LIONS, he has created the ultimate expression of that style. In Europe and Japan, Melodic Rock is extremely popular, and PRIDE OF LIONS has been at the top of the charts for the past three years. Their live shows on the continent have become must-see events, and until now, PRIDE OF LIONS has not mounted a full concert stateside. On October 7th, America will get its chance to see and hear what all the European and Japanese excitement is about.
Jim discovered Singer TOBY HITCHCOCK, whose stirring voice is the perfect match for Jim's voice, and further, for the passionate songs that Jim writes. With Jim and Toby at the heart of the band, a virtuoso guitarist is needed to provide the soul, and MIKE AQUINO is that man. From a whisper to a roar, he demonstrates an awesome technique, never losing the vibe. The machine that drives that band is the precision team of KLEM HAYES on bass and drummer ED BRECKENFELD, both musicians' musicians. The icing on the cake is multi- keyboardist CHRISTIAN CULLEN who orchestrates the songs and provides the power.
On the October 7th show, PRIDE OF LIONS will perform a number of Jim's songs from his days with Survivor, and selections from Jim's newest, acclaimed solo album "Above The Storm." Singer Lisa McClowry will join the group for the performance of Jim's Solo numbers.
This is truly the show that Survivor fans have been waiting for
