In an effort to prevent the planet from "spontaneously combusting," the cast members of the cult classic film This Is Spinal Tap -- Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer, along with Rob Reiner -- will host a private, exclusive meet-and-greet dinner in Los Angeles for the highest bidder and a guest with all proceeds benefiting the Live Earth concerts and Alliance for Climate Protection. The date for this special occasion will be determined at a later time.

At their Live Earth London performance on July 7, Spinal Tap performed their classic "Stonehenge" as well as their newest composition, "Warmer Than Hell," a song penned exclusively for Live Earth. The group capped off their dynamic Live Earth appearance by inviting "every bass player in the known universe" to join onstage for their last song "Big Bottom". Bassists from many of the bands on the Live Earth London line-up, including from the Foo Fighters, David Grey, Bloc Party, James Blunt and Beastie Boys, took part in the epic jam fest.

Fans can place a bid on this culturally iconic experience by visiting the Live Earth auction at http://ebay.com/liveearth.

The online event is being managed by Auction Cause.

About Live Earth

Live Earth was a monumental music event that brought together a global audience on July 7, 2007 to combat the climate crisis. Live Earth staged concerts in New York, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and Hamburg -- as well as special broadcast events in Antarctica, Kyoto and Washington, DC -- and featured more than 100 of the world's best music acts -- a mix of both legendary music acts like The Police, Genesis, Bon Jovi and Madonna with the latest headliners like Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed Peas and Jack Johnson.

Live Earth's 24 hours of music across 7 continents delivered a worldwide call to action and the solutions necessary to answer that call. Live Earth launched a multi-year campaign to drive individuals, corporations and governments to take action to solve the climate crisis. Live Earth is partnering with the Alliance for Climate Protection, Avaaz, The Climate Group (We're in This Together), Stop Climate Chaos (I Count) and other international organizations in this ongoing effort. Live Earth was founded by Kevin Wall, CEO of Control Room, the company that produced the concerts globally.
