DETROIT, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tom Joyner Sky Show, the largest, free, live African-American entertainment series in the country, returns to the Motor City Friday, June 22, 2007 at the Detroit Opera House with Chrysler Jeep Superstores as a sponsor.
The announcement was made by Jim Schebil, president, Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association of Southeastern Michigan. The Sky Show features performances by national recording artist/groups such as Angela Winbush, Donnell Jones, and After Seven. The show draws record crowds during its broadcasts across the nation.
"Chrysler Jeep Superstores are especially happy to be a part of the summer fun in Detroit as sponsors for the 2007 Tom Joyner Sky Show," Schebil said. "Detroit is known around the world for our summer festivals and events. We had a great turn out for the Downtown Hoedown of which we were a major sponsor and we are already starting preparations as the title sponsor for the unlimited hydroplane "Gold Cup" races on the Detroit River July 13-15, 2007."
Over ten million radio listeners hear Tom Joyner host of the nationally syndicated radio show, The Tom Joyner Morning Show every weekday morning.
The shows theme "Party with a Purpose" originated in 1996 when Tom Joyner saw an opportunity to make a difference in the African-American community. The Sky Show continues to help drive the vote with a voter registration drive and support Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Chrysler Jeep Superstores and Motor City Dodge will introduce the summer's hottest cars to the Sky Show audience. The [Chrysler Convertible Sebring LTD, four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Dodge Avenger RT, and the Dodge Nitro 4x4] will be on display at the Detroit Opera house during the live broadcast. The 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is the first four-door and first five-passenger Wrangler in Jeep's 65-year history.
Also at the onsite car display, four lucky audience members will have a chance to enter a contest drawing for a chance to meet Tom Joyner after the show.
The Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association is made up of the 39 independently owned Chrysler Jeep Superstores in Southeastern Michigan from Monroe to Fowlerville and from Clinton to Port Huron.
