Mandalay Alliance Secures Financing Partners

Mandalay Alliance Secures Financing Partners

Brand will Redefine 'Urban' in Hollywood

LOS ANGELES, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Mandalay Alliance Entertainment (MAE) has secured financing partners and engaged in two new projects, Damien Douglas, President, and Horace Madison, Chief Financial Officer, announced today.

The financing partners include Madison Strategic Integration, Bank of America, Wachovia Bank, Suntrust Bank, and Candescent Pictures, whose LAB601 will become the post production house of choice for MAE. Focusing on films with budgets up to $10 million, MAE will explore various components of entertainment including feature films, direct to dvd movies, and television projects.

"This new financing will allow MAE to immediately begin production on projects, acquire films, and form alliances with outside production companies," Madison said. "Most importantly, through each individual project with the MAE brand, we look to redefine and broaden the identity of 'urban' entertainment beyond skin color. Rather, it is through our films, dvds, and television shows that we look to place a sensibility onto our definition of 'urban' which stands for a young, multicultural lifestyle."

MAE has engaged in two new production deals. Omar Epps will partner with MAE on the feature film LOVE CAN'T HIDE, a romantic comedy, which Epps wrote and will also star. The film will be produced by Epps, Douglas and Madison.

MAE has also signed a production deal with Meagan Good and her outfit Freedom Bridge Entertainment. Their first project together, SUNDAYS IN FORT GREENE, is set to begin production this summer. Good and Tamara Bass, who is the project's writer, will star in the film to be directed by Ty Hodges. Good will also produce alongside Douglas and Madison.

"We consider Omar and Meagan to be among the most precious jewels Hollywood has to offer. Beyond their talent, in front of and behind the camera, Omar and Meagan are able to reach beyond age, race and cultural barriers," Douglas said. "MAE has aligned with talent partners who understand that urban is a young, trendsetting lifestyle which is ever-changing. Meagan and Omar, along with all of our partners, are the ones who will drive MAE's transformation of Hollywood's idea of 'urban' from an ethnicity to a culture."
