MobiTV Appoints Former Pixar, Fox, Chiat/Day Executive, Simon Bax, to Board of Directors
EMERYVILLE, Calif., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- MobiTV, Inc., the global leader in mobile and broadband television and music services, today announced the appointment of Mr. Simon Bax to its board of directors. Bax brings more than two decades of valuable experience in both corporate financing and operations, in addition to key entertainment industry relationships through his roles at Pixar Animation Studios, Fox and Chiat/Day to name a few.

Most recently, Bax was executive vice president and chief financial officer at Pixar Animation Studios. As a member of the executive team, reporting to CEO Steve Jobs, Bax was directly responsible for finance, administration and investor relations and also oversaw marketing, distribution and consumer products. During his time at Pixar he was voted Bay Area CFO of the Year by San Francisco Business Times.
Between 2002 and 2006, Bax was chairman of SmartJog, a technology startup that was purchased by TDF in August 2006. Before 2002, Simon served as the chief financial officer and president of studio operations for Fox Filmed Entertainment for eight years. He joined Fox from TBWA\Chiat\Day advertising, where he was the chief financial officer.

Bax is a graduate of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge in England. He trained as a Chartered Accountant in London with Stoy Hayward & Co., where he was made a partner in 1986. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and he serves on several boards, including Docufide, the ODC/Dance Company, the Berkeley Art Museum and the Caius Foundation.
The addition of Bax brings the number of MobiTV directors to ten. The other MobiTV board members are Adm. B.R. Inman, Jarl Mohn, John Jarve, Jeff Brody, Vern Stevenson, Dr. Phillip Alvelda, Paul Scanlan, Jeff Annison and Bandel Carano.
