5K and Counting ... Emma Email Marketing Adds Its 5,000th Customer
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Emma(R), the email marketing and communications service, has reached the 5,000 customer mark. The Web-based service, which launched four years ago with a goal of making it easy for smaller firms to create stylish, sophisticated email newsletters and campaigns, now works with a roster of clients that extends across the United States and into Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

Who is No. 5,000? KUSC classical radio (www.kusc.org) in Los Angeles, which uses Emma to stay in touch with a devoted - and increasingly varied - listener base. "We are a classical music station with a diverse and wide audience that may not love *everything* we have on air," says Carrie Banasky, KUSC's Director of Membership. "Now we can tailor our messages based on our users' preferences, which makes our listeners happy, our hosts happy, and - most important - the gal who answers our phone happy."
For Emma's part, KUSC and its fellow Emma-ites (Emmatons? Emmaettes?) can expect the company to maintain its focus on helping smaller firms do big things with their email communications, says Emma co-founder Clint Smith. "We love working with people like Carrie and KUSC," says Smith. "They care about their brand, they care about creating something with real style, and they care most about building their email audience the right way. It's why we created Emma in the first place. That, and the promise of an office foosball table which, quite sadly, has yet to arrive."
Behind the scenes, Emma is bulking up in preparation for continued growth and a more extensive international push in 2007, with the recent addition of attorney Bo Spessard as the company's director of operations and a major hardware expansion to be completed this fall.
