Orbit E-Commerce Inc. and PureNet.TV Provide Corporate Update - CRTC Approves PureNet.TV's Internet Television

TORONTO, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Orbit E-Commerce Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: OECI) ("the company") and PureNet.TV ("PureNet") are pleased to provide the following corporate update.

The companies wish to announce that PureNet was previously approved by the Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission ("CRTC") as a Digital Subscriber Line ("DSL") provider for Ontario and Quebec. As well, the CRTC has recently ruled that PureNet falls under the New Media exemption of the Broadcast Act and is approved to offer live television broadcasts and related services to consumers in Canada using PureNet's technology. Douglas C. Lloyd, President and CEO of OECI and PureNet commented, "We are pleased with the CRTC's decision which is a milestone for our company and plan to vigorously start rolling out our internet television services in Ontario and Quebec."

PureNet has entered into several strategic partnerships and agreements with equipment and content providers for the head end and Internet television network equipment and for broadcast television channels including unique international channels for the various ethnic communities in the larger cities in Canada and the USA.

As previously announced, the OECI and PureNet reorganization is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. The company's auditors are working on OECI's corporate year end July 31, 2006 audited financials which will be finalized shortly. Following the filing of the financials, the company will be changing its name to PureNet with a symbol change and new cusip number. Mr. Lloyd commented, "We will continue to build shareholder value by utilizing the synergies of PureNet and Orbit. Upon completion of the name change, the new entity shall be well positioned to aggressively expand in the IPTV industry which is growing at a substantial pace worldwide. The new company will have tremendous opportunities as it relates to this growth."

According to a recent report from iSuppli (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/060803/lath035.html?.v=64), worldwide IPTV subscribers will grow by a factor of more than 26, rising to 63 million subscribers in 2010. The estimated IPTV subscribers in 2005 was 2.4 million, meaning the analysts predict a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 92.1 percent. The IPTV subscriber base will generate more than $27 billion in overall IPTV revenue in 2010. Content licensing revenue will total $11 billion. IPTV subscribers are increasing briskly as well, topping 53 million worldwide in 2009. Subscriber growth is strong in all regions, especially in Asia Pacific, where faster forms of DSL like VDSL and ADSL2/2+ are stimulating subscriber growth.

In other developments, the company wishes to advise that its Management is presently in China in discussions for Chinese content and evaluating the opportunity of IPTV in China. Management believes there are significant opportunities in China as it relates to IPTV and content.

According to an article written by Mary-Anne Toy of Fairfax Digital's The Age http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2006/08/11/1154803097548.html , China has the world's second largest internet-user population -- 123 million at June 30 2006 (The US has 204 million users). Of those, 77 million are broadband subscribers, up 45 per cent from a year earlier, with most on speeds of 1-2 megabits per second. China's internet users comprise just 9.4 per cent of the population, but that is rising steadily as the Government encourages internet use for business and education.
