Ryan Cabrera Will Rock the Inland Empire With a Free Concert for Wal-Mart's 2000th Supercenter

New Beaumont Store Hosts Star-Studded Community Celebration to Thank Californians

LOS ANGELES, March 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) is having a party in honor of its 2000th Supercenter and everyone's invited. Pop artist Ryan Cabrera will perform live on Saturday, March 18 at 4 p.m. from the parking lot of what will be Wal-Mart's 2000th Supercenter, upon its opening next week. The free concert is open to the public.

"We really wanted to surprise the community with a powerhouse event as our way of saying, 'Thank you, California, for helping us grow,'" said Henry Jordan, regional general manager. "It's a big way for us to give back to the community and show customers, associates and partners how grateful we are for their support."

Located in Beaumont, 80 miles east of Los Angeles, the new mega-store will expand Wal-Mart's service to the state, which already includes 13 Supercenters. With its more than 116,000 general merchandise and grocery products, the new store boasts many of the latest merchandise features coming to Wal-Mart Supercenters this year: wider aisles, home trends displays, concrete and hardwood floors throughout, an expanded selection of organic food items, and an extensive electronics section showcasing the latest in computers, iPods and hi-definition televisions.

The refined store design and layout will be joined with additional convenient services customers have come to expect from Wal-Mart one-stop shopping experience, including a nail and hair salon, tire and lube center, pharmacy, photo studio, bank and vision center.

In Wal-Mart's dedication to serving the community, Saturday's event will feature a silent auction of celebrity-autographed giveaways, including signed guitars from Jo Dee Messina, Alabama and George Strait, among others. All proceeds will go to America's Second Harvest food bank.

Saturday's festivities will also include a presentation of $34,000 to local community organizations, bounce houses, character appearances and vendor giveaways. The store is located at 1540 East 2nd Street in Beaumont and officially opens for business on Wednesday, Mar. 22.
