NEW YORK, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The History Channel today unveiled details of a mall tour that will travel to seven cities across the United States from March 4th through April 9th to generate awareness for its highly anticipated special series event 10 DAYS THAT UNEXPECTEDLY CHANGED AMERICA.

10 DAYS THAT UNEXPECTEDLY CHANGED AMERICA, which premieres on The History Channel(R) April 9-13 at 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT each evening, consists of 10 films, each created by a different award-winning filmmaker or filmmaking team, spotlighting 10 historic events that triggered seismic shifts in America's political, cultural or social landscape. Using a broad range of storytelling techniques including interviews, archival footage, historical artifacts, recreations and even animation, the series offers viewers a fresh perspective on well-known historical incidents while also shining a light on the tremendous impact of less frequently cited events. ABOUT THE 10 DAYS THAT UNEXPECTEDLY CHANGED AMERICA MALL TOUR
* The 20ft x 30ft exhibit will have a movie theme feel to it with a red
carpet, marquee signs featuring the 10 Days That Unexpectedly Changed
America logo, props and film stock visuals incorporated into the exhibit.
The exhibit will be open and free flowing, allowing consumers to wander
through at a leisurely pace.
* There will be four welcome signs resembling film strips containing
information about 10 Days THAT UNEXPECTEDLY CHANGED AMERICA. The welcome
signs will contain a brochure for consumers to learn more about the
history of each day, the filmmakers, the mall tour, and the national
sweepstakes.
* The exhibit will contain five double-sided 8ft x 4ft panel displays
showcasing each of the shows from 10 Days THAT UNEXPECTEDLY CHANGED
AMERICA. Each side of the panel will feature a powerful, inspirational
photograph epitomizing the day. Information about the show, filmmakers,
and artifacts representing each day will also be showcased near each
panel.
* The exhibit will contain two kiosks that will run clips of 10 Days That
Unexpectedly Changed America, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews
with the filmmakers. There will also be two touch-screen kiosks where
consumers can select a day to learn more about the history of the event
and hear from the filmmakers about making the film.
* From March 9th through April 13th The History Channel will have the 10
Ways to See America Sweepstakes. Consumers will enter at
www.History.com/10days and ten winners will have a chance to choose one
of ten trips. Each trip is customized to be themed per episode of 10
DAYS THAT UNEXPECTEDLY CHANGED AMERICA.
* Sweepstakes partners include Travel Industry Association of America,
Orbitz, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Avis, U-Haul International, JC Penney
Portraits, Graceland and Elvis.com, SOFA Entertainment and Sony BMG
Music Entertainment. The History Channel will have online presence at
each partner site and point of sale materials at Wyndham Hotels &
Resorts, Avis, JC Penney Portraits, and U-Haul International locations,
Graceland, and Heartbreak Hotel.
