WMMR's Preston and Steve Extend Contract thru 2010

WMMR's Preston and Steve Extend Contract thru 2010

PHILADELPHIA, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Greater Media Philadelphia announces WMMR has signed a two-year contract extension with morning stars Preston Elliot and Steve Morrison.

The new deal extends the existing 3-year contract the radio talents signed last February upon their arrival from now-defunct Y100, and keeps the market- leading team on WMMR thru 2010.

"We're less than a year into our life here at WMMR and are absolutely thrilled to be adding on a few more to our contract. Great radio station, great people! It's amazing that they haven't caught on to our ineptitude yet," said Preston Elliot.

"We are thrilled and amazed that WMMR has made this critical error by extending our contracts for another two years. They have been extremely supportive of us and give us everything we ask for despite our past record of committing countless felonies," said Steve Morrison.

In less than 12 months, The Preston and Steve Show has pushed WMMR to the front of the Philly radio race. The morning show's efforts have produced a steep ratings and revenue increase, accentuated further in light of Howard Stern's departure.

Among adults 18-34 years of age, WMMR's Preston and Steve actually beat Howard Stern in his last book in Philadelphia, a feat not seen in nearly 15 years.

According to the most recent Arbitron (Fall 2005), Preston and Steve are ranked 1st or 2nd in almost all adult demographics.

"Preston and Steve have not only been a huge hit with long-time MMR listeners but have brought the station new listeners as well. WMMR is very excited to extend our partnership with Preston and Steve so we can continue to entertain Philadelphians with the very best rock and personalities for many years to come," said John Fullam, Vice President and Market Manager of Greater Media Philadelphia.

"It is extremely gratifying to see Preston and Steve and the other members of the show in such a great work environment. John Fullam, Bill Weston and everyone at Greater Media have been wonderful partners as we continue to grow the Preston and Steve brand," says agent Glenn Goldstein, who negotiated the duo's extension.

Goldstein also negotiated extensions for the rest of the Preston & Steve team, including executive producer Casey Fosbenner, better known as "CaseyBoy," Kathy Romano and Nick McIlwain.

"In a time of great flux in the Philadelphia morning radio landscape, this is great news for WMMR, Greater Media and local radio as a whole. These guys are raising the bar for all morning shows -- making the daily commute in Philly a great experience," praised WMMR Program Director Bill Weston.
