"This education campaign will be a great tool to advance our mission of preventing and combating immigration-related employment discrimination," said Wan J. Kim, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division.
OSC protects the rights of U.S. citizens and legal immigrants who have been discriminated against on the basis of citizenship status or national origin. OSC investigates charges on behalf of workers alleging discrimination; operates toll-free hotlines answering questions for employers and workers; and conducts outreach training to community groups, government agencies, employers and others throughout the nation to educate them about OSC.
The 30-second television and radio spots, which will be available in English and Spanish, will be aired throughout the country. The goal of the public service announcement campaign is to heighten public awareness of the services offered by OSC to victims of unlawful discrimination and to employers who want help complying with the law.
