SkipJam Announces Extreme PVR Bundle

SkipJam Announces Extreme PVR Bundle

2TB XStream Storage System Plus SkipJam iMedia Center for $2499

A Year of TV Viewing at Under $1 / Hour

PORT CHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- SkipJam Corp., a leading provider of home automation and multimedia networking products announced today a bundle of the SkipJam iMedia XStream Storage Server (XSS) (announced separately today), together with a SkipJam iMedia Center for a total price of $2499. The SkipJam iMedia Center provides automated recording of programs from over-the-air (OTA) broadcasts, cable or satellite boxes, as well as digital recording of any analog source to any networked hard drive. The SkipJam iMedia Center includes an advanced flexible searchable program guide and uses advanced MPEG-4 encoding to maximize the use of hard drive space. The SkipJam XStream Storage System provides 2 Terrabytes of networked storage, and when coupled with the iMedia Center provides storage for over a year of TV viewing based on the average family viewing 6.5 hours of TV per day.

With over 15,000 hours of entertainment entering the average home each week via cable or satellite, users have previously had to make tough choices about what to record. With the SkipJam iMedia Extreme PVR users can collect and store a significant portion of this content for viewing at their leisure. For Example, users could easily collect all 180 Seinfeld Episodes, together with all 140 Start Trek Deep Space 9 Episodes, and still have room for over 1,500 full length feature films.

SkipJam's innovative iMedia System lets users easily and automatically collect and organize audio, video and photo content, as well as control and integrate digital and analog media. And, unlike traditional PVR systems like TiVo, SkipJam iMedia Systems can record to any hard drive on the home network, even directly to an iPod. Users can easily add multiple storage devices such as the SkipJam XStream Storage Server, providing a system with virtually unlimited storage capabilities. The iMedia systems automatically aggregate and categorize the content across multiple servers for convenient access from anywhere.

"SkipJam users have been clamoring for a high-capacity storage solution," said Michael Spilo CEO of SkipJam Corp. "With multiple iMedia Centers all recording at once, our users have been accumulating amazing collections of media, and rather than choose what to delete they want to keep it all available at any time. Now they can."

Price and Availability

The Extreme PVR Bundle is available in limited quantities only directly from SkipJam and is priced at $2499.
