Guests in hotels served by Hotel SportsNet are enjoying pay-per-day access to sports packages including NFL SUNDAY TICKET(TM) (professional football), ESPN GamePlan (major college football), NBA LEAGUE PASS (professional basketball), and ESPN FULL COURT (major college basketball) along with college sports programming from College Sports TV (CSTV). Guests can order each package for a daily rate and see all available games in that package, subject to scheduling, local blackout restrictions and other conditions.
"With Hotel SportsNet we are bringing a win-win-win for hoteliers, their guests, and sports programmers," said Steven D. Truckenmiller, Senior Vice President Programming & Content Management for LodgeNet. "Hoteliers have content that can set their in-room experience apart and potentially, drive higher in-room food-and-beverage revenues; guests can stay connected with their favorite teams and track their fantasy players even while traveling; and sports programmers can extend their offerings to their current home subscribers while showcasing their services to potential new subscribers."
Introduced in 2003, LodgeNet's industry-first Hotel SportsNet service combines landmark programming agreements and patent-pending technology to deliver daily subscription sports programming to guest rooms. LodgeNet -- which provides Hotel SportsNet in conjunction with DIRECTV -- plans to have the service deployed to 75,000 to 100,000 guest rooms by the end of 2006.
