Florida Family Policy Council Announces Judicial Activism Television Ads 'Blasting' Judicial Activism

'These ads will educate voters in Florida about the urgent need to save our courts from those overreaching judges who are undermining our religious freedoms.' ~ Florida Family Policy Council President John Stemberger

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday November 14, 2005 Florida Family Policy Council will announce TV ad buys in two major Florida media markets and hold a private showing of the ad in both Orlando and Jacksonville on the same day (See details below for times and locations).

The ads are being paid for by Washington D.C. based Family Research Council and will begin running this Tuesday November 15, 2005 and will be shown in five other states around the country. The 30 second TV ad titled "Sandblasting" dramatizes the courts' efforts to remove references to God from the public square.

This statement was released by Florida Family Policy Council President John Stemberger:

"This ad campaign will remind Floridians of the threat posed by activist judges who refuse to recognize history, tradition, or legal precedent as they strip people of core constitutional rights. The ads will educate voters in Florida and other key states about the urgent need to save our courts from activist judges who are undermining our religious freedoms. The ad highlights how seriously the courts have become a threat to religious liberties. For the last forty years, the courts have chipped away at our religious liberties and chiseled away references to God in the public square. I look forward to the robust debate and discussion we will have over the next few weeks regarding the proper role of the courts."
