Holt Will Add New Audio Recording Technology to Online Textbooks for Spanish

SoundBooth Integrated into Online Spanish Curriculum

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Holt, Rinehart and Winston -- a leading publisher of textbooks and educational materials for grades six through 12 -- today announced that it will add a new audio recording technology called SoundBooth to its online Spanish curricula: Expresate (C)2006.

The new technology is exclusive to the Holt World Languages curricula and is to be included in all the Premier Online Editions of Holt Spanish textbooks. SoundBooth allows students to record and playback their voices while learning vocabulary, practicing pronunciation, or doing speaking activities in their online textbooks. Teachers can then listen to those recordings, evaluate student performance, and remediate or assign grades as appropriate. SoundBooth will be integrated into lessons and communicative activities throughout the online textbook, so students and teachers will have 24/7 access to the tool, just as they do with their Holt Online Learning textbooks.
