AirTran Airways to Jazz Up Holiday Season by Sponsoring Dave Koz and Friends Christmas Tour
ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AAI), today announced that the airline will serve as the official airline sponsor of the eighth annual Dave Koz and Friends Smooth Jazz Christmas Tour.
Accomplished jazz musician and saxophone savant Dave Koz will lead the 21-city tour which includes stops at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. and the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. "The Koz" will be accompanied by a group of equally brilliant musicians, including keyboardist Brian Culbertson, guitarist Norman Brown and vocalist Patti Austin.
This is not the first time Culbertson and Koz have teamed up musically. The two collaborated on Koz's most recent album, Saxophonic, and their song "All I See Is You" hit number one on the Smooth Jazz radio charts.
AirTran Airways, an "instrumental" supporter of the Smooth Jazz genre, is also the official airline of the Brian Culbertson 2005 tour. The airline plans to give away a number of Business Class tickets to concert attendants at each stop for both the Dave Koz and Friends Smooth Jazz Christmas Tour and Brian Culbertson's 2005 tour.
"AirTran Airways is pleased to spread the holiday cheer by sponsoring the Dave Koz and Friends Smooth Jazz Christmas Tour," said Tad Hutcheson, AirTran Airways' director of marketing.
"This tour features a group of musicians that pride themselves on providing a smooth and enjoyable experience," commented Dave Koz as he welcomed the AirTran Airways sponsorship. "We are elated to be supported by a company that shares that same goal."
