Catcher of the Silence & An Artist's Journey Are Named Official Selections For LDS 2012

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Art & Coin Television is proud to announce that two of its artist documentaries, Catcher of the Silence and Jiang:An Artist's Journey, have been enthusiastically received as official selections for the 2012 LDS Film Festival in Provo, Utah.

Catcher of the Silence has been selected as a finalist for the Short Film Competition, and Jiang: An Artist's Journey has been selected for a Special Screening. The screening date of Catcher of the Silence will be on Saturday, January 28th, at 5:00pm, and Jiang: An Artist's Journey will be shown on Friday, January 27th, at 4:30pm.

Catcher of the Silence is a snapshot of the life and work of Russian Gentle Surrealist Sasha Bassari. From a tiny, one-room apartment at the top floor of an old building in the historical center of St. Petersburg, Russia, Bassari paints the silence between each moment, and captures beauty that we do not easily see. Pioneering the art style Gentle Surrealism, his paintings simultaneously captivate the soul and mind in a way that extends beyond reality.

In the documentary Jiang:An Artist's Journey, Father of the Yunnan School and Modern Master Jiang Tiefeng travels back to China to be honored during the opening of an exhibition of his life's work at the Ningbo Museum of Art. Connecting with his past while exploring the arc of his long and successful career, Jiang leads us on a journey of tradition, spirituality, and creativity.
