TriOviz Raises $1M in Capital

TriOviz Raises $1M in Capital

Investment underlines the huge demand for 3D entertainment

LOS ANGELES, June 7, 2011/PRNewswire/ --TriOviz, a young high-tech company with a unique solution to allow regular 2D TVs to display movies and video games in 3D, has raised $1 million dollars in funding from France's Parness Innov.

TriOviz is the only solution available on the market today that allows people to enjoy 3D entertainment on the televisions they already have at home, immediately, inexpensively, enjoyably and comfortably. TriOviz's offer for video gaming is composed of two elements:

-- The TriOviz Software Development Kit (SDK), developed in partnership
with Darkworks: This SDK is used by game developers and publishers to
leverage existing three-dimensional graphics information within their
games to greatly enhance the depth-of-field, geometry volume and
position, and the rendering of characters within a scene.
-- TriOviz INFICOLOR Eyewear: Unlike the anaglyph red-cyan or magenta-green
glasses of the past, TRIOVIZ lightweight and comfortable 3D glasses use
innovative complex color filters in association with smart image
processing that allow wearers to perceive natural colors with great
viewing comfort.

The TriOviz solution works for Microsoft® Xbox 360(TM), Sony® PlayStation® 3 and PC. TriOviz also has a solution adapted for use with VOD, DVD, Blu-ray and broadcast television.

TriOviz technology has already been used to power Batman Arkham Asylum, Enslaved and Thor. More major games using TriOviz's unique capabilities will be released in summer and autumn 2011.

Herve Debbah, CEO of TriOviz, points out the immense potential: "Everyone agrees that 3D is the next frontier for providing an even more exciting and immersive entertainment experience for consumers. But today, only a very small fraction of households are equipped with a 3D television set. Thanks to TriOviz and TriOviz INFICOLOR 3D Eyewear, content owners and producers don't have to wait for the 3D TV penetration rate to grow - they can offer 3D today."

TriOviz, headquartered in France, plans to use part of the funding to expand their activities in the United States.
