Thousands to Attend Guadalupe Festival at Jobing.com Arena on August 8
Event will feature array of international celebrity speakers and entertainers
PHOENIX, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The biggest Catholic event of the year in the Phoenix area will be held at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale on Aug. 8.
A capacity crowd is expected to attend an afternoon of celebration, presentations, music and prayer at the Guadalupe Festival. The event is free and open to the public. See www.guadalupefestival.org for ticket details.
Doors will open at 2:00 PM and festivities conclude by 8:30 PM. The Festival is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, the Diocese of Phoenix, the Archdiocese of Mexico, and the Instituto Superior de Estudios Guadalupanos.
Serving as the conclusion of the First International Marian Congress on Our Lady of Guadalupe held from the August 6-8, the Festival will commemorate the apparition of the Virgin Mary to Juan Diego in 1531 - a pivotal event in the spread of Christianity in the Americas. The only piece of St. Juan Diego's cloak - or tilma - in the United States, will also have a place of honor at the festival.

of Saint Juan Diego
Mr. Anderson and Msgr. Chavez have recently coauthored a book, Our Lady of Guadalupe: Mother of the Civilization of Love, in stores August 4th, which will be available for a donation at the festival.
The Guadalupe Festival will conclude with an International Rosary said in multiple languages.
