Grammy Award-Winning Music Producer and Author John Carter Cash Writes First Children's Book for Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing

NEW YORK, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Little Simon Inspirations, an imprint of Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, today announced plans to publish the first children's book by author and five-time Grammy-winning music producer John Carter Cash. The only son of music legends Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, John Carter Cash shares a lyrical story based on the intimate words his mother shared with him as a child in Momma Loves Her Little Son, to be published in March 2009. Illustrated in Americana art style by Marc Burckhardt, the picture book is an expression of love between a mother and her son, which comes to life in vibrant simplicity.

From the farthest shores to the deepest oceans, a mother's love for her child is without bounds. In Momma Loves Her Little Son, little ones are swept away on a magical adventure over mountains and skyscrapers and through forests and streams -- a tender and joyful celebration of the enduring bond between mother and child.

As the only child of June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash, he has dedicated himself to preserving the legacy and heritage of his family's musical history. He lives with his wife, Laura, and three children, Jack Ezra, Anna Maybelle, and Joseph in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Marc Burckhardt's paintings have graced the covers of many books and album covers, including June Carter Cash's "Wildwood Flower," and his portrait of Johnny Cash was part of the Grammy-winning package design for "The Legend: Johnny Cash."
