Avaaz.org, a global online movement of 3.4 million people, was launched in January 2007 and has rapidly grown into the largest online activist community in the world with subscribers in all 193 countries. "Avaaz" means "voice" in many languages, and has a simple democratic mission: to close the gap between the world we have and the world most people want, on the environment, human rights, poverty, war and democracy. The BBC says Avaaz is "breathtaking in its ambition," the Economist warns Avaaz is poised to "deliver a deafening wake up call to world leaders," and UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband calls Avaaz "the best of the New Diplomacy."

The World Children's Choir serves as a voice for children worldwide - giving voice to the interests of all children, celebrating cultural diversity through music, promoting positive international relations, and asking people to work together to create a peaceful, healthy world for children. Through singing, WCC members explore musical content, and use music, art, and special activities to mediate cross-cultural differences and become peacemakers. The children learn how music and art expresses emotion, creates shared experiences, bridges differences, tells stories, produces beauty and enriches others.
