OVAB Announces New President

OVAB Announces New President

Suzanne Alecia Takes Over for Kim Norris

NEW YORK, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Out-of-Home Video Advertising Bureau, (OVAB), announced today the appointment of Suzanne Alecia to the president of the organization, replacing Kim Norris. Suzanne was most recently the president of advertising sales for The Hotel Networks, the leading provider of national cable networks and video-on-demand programming into upscale and business class hotels across the country and a founding company of OVAB.

Suzanne currently serves on OVAB's Executive Board and Research & Standards committee and is the organization's treasurer. She will take over as the president of OVAB immediately and will focus on fostering collective efforts between out-of-home video advertising networks, advertisers and agencies to establish industry standards for this new media format and encourage the use of this growing medium.

"Kim has done a fantastic job for OVAB during her tenure, increasing the awareness of out-of-home video advertising networks and tripling the number of members within OVAB in the last 8 months," said Mike DiFranza president and general manager of Captivate Network and chairman of OVAB. "Kim and Suzanne worked together closely over the last several months as Suzanne has been an active member working closely with our agency advisory board to help develop a measurement standard. Because of Suzanne's experience working directly for an out-of-home video advertising network she understands the challenges and the ins and outs of the business and also has the necessary contacts in the media industry to continue the momentum our space is experiencing. We are looking to Suzanne's expertise and leadership as we continue to drive our research efforts forward."

Suzanne has over 13 years of experience in television media sales and management specializing in emerging platforms. Throughout her career she has been an integral contributor to double and triple digit revenue growth for all her past employers. During her tenure at The Hotel Networks, Suzanne was responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's advertising sales, and the development of marketing programs and new business initiatives. Suzanne and her team were the driving force behind significant increases in ad sales revenue growth for the past couple of years from 2004 through 2007. Prior to The Hotel Networks, Suzanne held positions at Hallmark Channel, Oxygen Media and Home and Garden Television.

"Joining the OVAB in this capacity will allow me to continue my passion of promoting the benefits of non-traditional media platforms to the advertising community," said Suzanne Alecia, president of OVAB. "I firmly believe that this current $1.3 billion a year industry is poised to grow exponentially in the next 1-5 years and I look forward to seeing our members' and their clients' businesses thrive as a result of this growth."

Kim, a veteran cable advertising sales executive, has been appointed to senior vice president-strategy and business development/digital marketing and commerce at Cablevision.
