Artgig Studio and Chris Tarry Launch New Christarry.com Website
Complete website re-design in support of Chris Tarry's latest album, 'Almost Certainly Dreaming'
NEW YORK, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Artgig Studio (http://www.artgig.com/), a full-service interactive agency based in Westchester, NY, partnered with Brooklyn-based bassist and composer Chris Tarry to launch a new website, http://www.christarry.com/, in support of The Chris Tarry Group's latest album, "Almost Certainly Dreaming."
"This is the future of the music business - independent artists who not only play the music but manage the store," says Matthew Kicinski, President of Artgig Studio. "The solution has to be easy and immediate. We design custom websites that allow artists to push their product directly to their audience using a content management system that is web-based. The appeal of the system is that it's simple to use - to upload music, update schedules, post news and press in text and images, and to be selling literally, as soon as the set is wrapped. All you need is an Internet connection to update the website - absolutely no extra programming or special skills are required."
Steven Grosmark, Chief Engineer and Programmer at Artgig, said, "In addition to some enhanced mailing list features that allow Chris to target specific geographic locations in his marketing efforts, we also designed some custom feed plug-ins for Facebook and MySpace that automatically deliver content from Chris's website to these important social networks so Chris only has to update the information in one place. With each website we do for musicians, we find another angle to increase the potential for automation."
"It was really fun to work with Chris on the look of his site. He gave us some examples of websites he liked and some basic direction and I think the resulting design and functionality is really quite beautiful and clean," said Lis Cherry, Creative Director at Artgig. "A custom website ensures a good fit by definition but it's important to have a good sense of look and feel going in, because the process of design can run away with the budget if we allow it."
Kicinski adds, "It's really satisfying to deliver a website like this and have someone like Chris on the other end who is excited and enthusiastic about using it."
Other notable Artgig clients include Bruce Weber - http://www.bruceweber.com/, Jen Chapin - http://www.jenchapin.com/, and David Binney - http://www.davidbinney.com/.
