Congressman Jose E. Serrano to Appear on Azteca America's Political Forum 'Issues: Caras y Voces'

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Azteca America, the fastest-growing Hispanic television network in the United States, is proud to present U.S. Congressman Jose E. Serrano on the Nov. 19 transmission of "Issues: Caras y Voces" (Issues: Faces and Voices), a political forum hosted by veteran Latino journalist Armando Guzman.

The district of Congressman Serrano (D-NY) is one of the smallest in the country geographically, consisting of a few miles of the heavily urbanized and populated South Bronx in New York City. His district is also one of the most densely populated and one of the few majority Hispanic districts in the country.

He authored the English Plus Resolution, which calls on the government to encourage all Americans to learn and use multiple languages, in addition to English. He vehemently opposes "English only" proposals because he believes that implementing such a policy would be harmful to civil rights and America's broader national interests.

"Issues: Caras y Voces" features top leaders that impact the Hispanic community through one-on-one interviews conducted by Armando Guzman. Covering the White House and the Capitol for almost two decades, Mr. Guzman is one of the most respected correspondents in Washington. The interview forum airs every Monday evening during Noticiero Azteca America, the network news broadcast of Azteca America.

Past guests of Issues: Caras y Voces include: New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL), Congressman Xavier Becerra (D-CA), former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Governor Janet Napolitano.

Don't Miss "Issues: Caras y Voces" Mondays during the transmission of Noticiero Azteca America, at 11:00 p.m. EST and PST / 10:00 p.m. CST.

Webcast repetitions available at http://www.aztecaamerica.com/corporate and http://www.fundacionaztecaamerica.org/.

The forum is also broadcast in Mexico on Proyecto 40.
