The Food Network, 'World's Best Soul Food,' to Air November 19, 2007

ATLANTA, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Proclaimed by the Food Network as the "Best Soul Food" restaurant, Atlanta's own Louise's World's Best Soul Food presents its local soul food dishes to the national audience of the Food Network's popular show "The Secret Life of Family Restaurants," airing November 19, 2007 at 10:30 pm and 1:30 am. To add to this momentous event, Louise's World Best Soul Food will celebrate the grand opening of its new home located in Lawrenceville, Ga. on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 12 p.m. Louise's World's Best Soul Food is a family-owned restaurant that uses the deep-rooted southern recipes of restaurateur - Louise Holmes - who exemplifies the ultimate experience in mother's cooking!

Louise Holmes, age 64, has been cooking home-cooked meals dating back over 50 years ago. She grew up in a small town called Girard, Ga. with her nine siblings and both parents, who were sharecroppers. Louise learned a majority of her cooking skills from her mom. Food was prepared from the master's leftovers. Unfortunately, her parents couldn't afford the finer appliances KitchenAid had to offer. Most of the cooking was done in large black pots and iron skillets over an open pit or fireplace. There were no cookbooks, measuring cups or formal training but not even the best chef could master her mom's taste. Louise took an interest in her mom's cooking at an early age. Soon she would be married with nine kids, cooking for her own family. She began to create her own recipes adding a dash of this and a pinch of that. Her delicious cooking was well-known throughout the community.

While expanding her family, Louise dreamed of opening up her own business. In 2005, Louise's Soul Food opened its doors at 428 Ponce De Leon, in Midtown, Atlanta. It became an instant hit with customers and would prove to be some of the best food in Atlanta. Since opening Louise has gone on to receive countless accolades from MS-NBC, Creative Loafing, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Georgia Magazine, Atlanta Voice, and Chef Magazine. Well-known Atlanta broadcaster Wes Sargenson even profiled Louise's in his popular local news segment, "Wes Side Story," on WXIA for the rave reviews it received from satisfied customers. The best testament of her good food would come through the world-renowned "Food Network," who came to Louise's August of this year to share with the world one of the best soul food cooks around.

On December 1, 2007 Louise's will open its doors at its new location. Louise's would like to encourage you to join Mrs. Louise on that day in support of her opening. This event will prove to be one of your most memorable dining experiences ever. Not only will you be graced with Louise's humble presence but you will have the opportunity to enjoy some of the World's Best Soul Food, GUARANTEED!
