Broadcasting Center Europe to Pilot Facial Recognition Powered Digital Media Platform
NEW YORK and LUXEMBOURG, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Viewdle, Inc. (www.viewdle.com) today announced that Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE) (www.bce.lu) is piloting Viewdle, a facial recognition-based digital media platform for indexing, searching and monetizing video assets. BCE is focused on multimedia content production and distribution, serving more than 400 clients in various broadcast industry sectors, including television channels, radio stations, film distributors, producers, advertising companies, telecommunications operators and public services.
The initial focus of the pilot project is in applying Viewdle for indexing, monitoring, searching and presenting content within BCE, which is part of RTL Group. After testing the system's performance, BCE will explore opportunities for a white-label rollout of Viewdle to enhance its existing client service offering. Viewdle's highly-scalable platform can be quickly customized and deployed based on customer specifications.
"BCE is committed to remain on the cutting edge of technologies with advanced solutions that provide new efficiencies or revenue opportunities for our clients," said Tun van Rijswijck, Chief Operating Officer of BCE. "Because Viewdle's multi-modal technology indexes video assets based on true content instead of text-based transcripts, it is a valuable tool for effectively utilizing both newly-produced as well as archived assets. We're looking forward to experiencing the benefits of this platform first-hand, as well as identifying potential applications for our clients."
BCE joins the rapidly expanding list of content producers and distributors, which includes Reuters Labs, piloting Viewdle.
