Top Ten Compete in First Ever Revelation Generation Battle of the Bands Competition This Saturday in Somers Point, NJ

Fans Select Top Ten Local Bands to Battle in the RevGen Breakout Competition at Safe Haven Cafe to Play at the Annual Labor Day Weekend Music Festival

FLEMINGTON, N.J., July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Out of twenty entries, Revelation Generation fans recently voted for their top ten favorite bands to participate in a local "battle of the bands" competition happening this Saturday, July 14th at the Safe Haven Cafe in Somers Point, NJ from 12 noon to 8 pm. The winner of the RevGen Breakout competition will have the chance to play alongside top artists featured at this year's Revelation Generation festival, such as Newsboys, Jars of Clay, Brian Littrell, Nicole C. Mullen, Grits, Building 429, Phil Keaggy, MxPx, Skillet, Emery, Norma Jean, The Almost, and Falling Up.

In the past few weeks, eager music fans swarmed to the Revelation Generation MySpace page to vote for their favorite local band. Ten bands made the cut to battle in the first-ever RevGen Breakout competition for a coveted spot on stage at Revelation Generation on September 1st. The majority of the bands are part of the alternative Christian rock scene such as I am Alpha and Omega, Sum of One, AIM FC, Justpassingthru, The Eternal Affect, Judah's Song and Hyper Nicholas. Also competing will be Salida 7, a Latin rock band, and Reilly - proclaimed as one of the top up and coming indie bands in the country. Alpha and Omega, a local Hunterdon County band, received the most votes for the #1 spot in the top ten rankings. The bands will be judged by a panel of music enthusiasts along with reps from Safe Haven and Revelation Generation.

"We're really excited about the RevGen Breakout because it gives fans a chance to support local bands. The Revelation Generation concert has always worked with the surrounding community and locals to get them involved. This event is another way for all of us to all stay connected," said Sean Grom, Grassroots Marketing Coordinator for Revelation Generation. "The top ten bands are all amazing, so it's really going to be a tough competition. We can't wait to see everyone battle it out, live on stage this weekend."

The winning band will perform on one of two state-of-the-art stages at Revelation Generation 2007, and receive a radio interview with 90.5 WXGN and several other stations, as well as inclusion in various concert promotions.
