Comcast Indianapolis Picks Up Ryan Newman Engineering PSA

WARRENDALE, Pa., July 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cable provider Comcast Indianapolis announced today that it will air a public service announcement promoting A World in Motion, an award-winning educational program sponsored by SAE International. The program focuses on sparking interest in math and science for students in grades K through 12.

Comcast's decision to air the public service announcement featuring Ryan Newman, driver of the Alltel Dodge for Penske Racing in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, gives wider distribution to Newman's message that America needs young engineers. More than 40 cable television networks including CNN will have access to the PSA by virtue of this relationship with Comcast.

The PSA, which has received Ad Council endorsement, will debut Tuesday, July 24, in the Indianapolis market. The timing coincides with the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, the NASCAR Nextel Cup race set for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 29.

Newman received a Bachelor of Science degree in Vehicle Structure Engineering from Purdue University in August 2001, and before that was a member of the National Honor Society and an honors graduate of South Bend LaSalle High School in 1996.
