The Nevada Division of Insurance Launches Campaign to Address Fraudulent Annuities Insurance
Campaign reminds consumers to 'check before writing a check'
CARSON CITY, Nev., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nevada Division of Insurance is addressing fraudulent annuities insurance programs through continued strong consumer education awareness and a comprehensive advertising campaign that launched this month.
With the recent increase in fraudulent annuity investment claims in Nevada and nationwide, this new campaign titled "Bad Animals" simulates conversations between annuity "sales people" who are really "animals" underneath the surface. The kitschy yet serious message encourages consumers to understand their annuities and clearly know its benefits and risks, as well as WHO they are purchasing from. It also continues to educate the community on this type of insurance fraud.
The ultimate objective of the campaign is to fight this type of fraudulent insurance by motivating the public to do the appropriate research on their investment/annuities company by logging on to http://www.nvinsurancealert.com/, as well as calling #1-888-467-4195 to verify whether their provider is an authorized and legitimate supplier of these products.
Four television commercials and two separate billboards are airing and visible throughout Las Vegas and Reno/Sparks, NV. Each ad represents a "simulated sales" vignette shown from the perspective of the purchaser as they are coerced into buying a faulty annuity for all the wrong reasons. The ads creatively show a "sales person" communicating with a potential annuity customer then flashes to a photo of a predator that most creatively represents each salesperson, demonstrating how the customer is deceived through witty and coercive tactics, each carrying the tagline "Check with us before you write a check."
The Nevada Division of Insurance's objective is to create awareness of these fraudulent and damaging programs amongst the targeted customers. They are communicating the problem and providing a resource for accurate information on the website and through the call center.
