MobiTV Opens Stockholm R&D Center and Silicon Valley Engineering Facilities - Investing Heavily in Advanced Mobile and Broadband Television Technologies

EMERYVILLE, Calif., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- MobiTV, Inc., the leading provider and platform for content delivery over mobile and broadband networks, today announced the opening of its Research and Development (R&D) center in Stockholm, Sweden, as well as the Company's new engineering facility in Sunnyvale, California.

The new R&D center in Stockholm will focus resources on next generation wireless networks, such as WiMAX, and advanced multi-media technology. Sweden, the "wireless valley" of the world, hosts an impressive line-up of Sweden-based R&D centers and MobiTV will leverage the technical knowledge that exists in Stockholm to attract some of the best and brightest in the industry.

"We take our role as market leaders very seriously and consider it our responsibility to continue to drive multi-media technology through innovation and development," said Kay Johansson, chief technology officer for MobiTV, Inc. "Sweden is the wireless epicenter of the world. By opening an office in Stockholm we will be able to tap into the local expertise, making the location an obvious choice for MobiTV's R&D center."

Johansson added that Anders Norstrom, a veteran in the wireless industry, has been named Managing Director of the Sweden office and has already started in on building a highly skilled team dedicated to the advancement of mobile television services.

The new facility in Silicon Valley is located in downtown Sunnyvale. With the opening of this second location in the San Francisco Bay Area, MobiTV looks to draw from the local talent to attract the best engineers the South Bay has to offer.
