More than 100,000 Expected to Attend Carbon-Neutral Festival at the Hatch Shell in Boston
BOSTON, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston-bred band Guster will headline the 14th Annual WBOS EarthFest in Boston on Saturday, May 26 at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade in Boston. Joining Guster in the annual celebration of the Earth will be KT Tunstall, Mat Kearney, John Butler Trio, Vega4 and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. The event will also feature a host of local artists on the Boston Music Stage including Mieka Pauley, Tim Blane, Chad Perrone, Jake Brennan and Will Dailey.
Presented by Whole Foods Market and free to the public, WBOS EarthFest will showcase great music, environmentally friendly products, non-profit organizations and family-friendly activities. Produced in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, the event is expected to draw more than 100,000.
Kids' Planet, an expanded interactive family area, will feature a wide variety of musical acts and entertainment, including performances from Girl Authority, SteveSongs and theatrical sensation Frogz. Activities in Kids' Planet will begin at 10 a.m.
WBOS is committed ensuring the event is environmentally-friendly. The station will purchase carbon credits to offset energy output and neutralize the effect of greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming. In addition, comprehensive recycling programs will be implemented.
