Gluhareff Helicopters Debuts Do-It-Yourself Jet Engine

G8-2-20i Has No Moving Parts and Operates on Propane

VALENCIA, Calif., May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Gluhareff Helicopters LLC has introduced a new construction kit for the Gluhareff Pressure Jet Engine in the 20-pound thrust size. Designed for the do-it-yourself enthusiast, the G8-2-20i Pressure Jet Engine runs on environmentally friendly propane and can power various types of machines, ranging from remote-controlled aircraft to personal helicopters.

Based on the original G8-2-20 Gluhareff Pressure Jet Engine designed by Eugene M. Gluhareff in the 1950s, the newest version was redesigned using state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and top-quality materials to provide improved reliability and easier construction, without sacrificing performance. It still has no moving parts and is easily throttleable.

"We've now made it possible to assemble this small, compact jet engine with easier construction and fewer parts," said Irina Gluhareff, President of Gluhareff Helicopters LLC. "This simple, yet classic technology sat dormant for many years, but you only need to use your imagination to realize its future possibilities."

The G8-2-20i Pressure Jet Engine Construction Kit consists of precision-engineered, preformed and precut parts. Assembly involves fitting, trimming and welding together the jet engine according to the directions provided. Each kit includes a step-by-step instruction booklet with pictures and diagrams, plus an informational CD on the jet engine with historical film footage of Gluhareff and his experimental flying machines.

The kit, which sells for $1,599 is available only from Gluhareff Helicopters LLC, and can be ordered at www.tipjet.com.

About Gluhareff Helicopters LLC

With help from his wife, Alla, Eugene M. Gluhareff started Gluhareff Helicopters in 1951 to develop the Gluhareff pressure jet engine. During the next 40 years, he continued improving the engine's performance and thrust output with the goal of creating a personal helicopter. When Gluhareff passed away in 1994, his company closed. However, daughter Irina Gluhareff resurrected the family business and her father's dream, which included developing the G8-2 Pressure Jet Engine for use in a variety of applications.
