Tri-C's Classical Performance Piano Academy Releases 2007 Season Schedule
HIGHLAND HILLS, Ohio, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Cuyahoga Community College's Classical Performance Piano Academy today announced its 2007 schedule of recitals and lectures aimed at engaging the community in personal growth and enrichment through classical music in general and the piano in particular.
Launched in Fall 2006 and based at Tri-C's Eastern Campus, the Academy is led by world-renowned classical pianist Emanuela Friscioni. Friscioni obtained her diploma in Piano Performance at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, Italy. She has competed in numerous national and international competitions and has taken first prize in the Tortona, Moneglia, Camaiore, Chieti and Kawai piano competitions. Friscioni is also a resident professor of the Cleveland Institute of Music.
The Academy offers engaging courses and lectures, piano recitals by internationally-known guest artists and "competition quality" private piano lessons. Designed to serve the young and the young at heart, beginners and virtuosos, the Academy has lessons and programs designed to meet every music lover's needs. The Classical Piano Performance Academy 2007 Season is as follows:
February 17 - Piano Recital featuring Marina Lomazov
Praised by critics as "a diva of the piano" (The Salt Lake City
Tribune), "a mesmerizing risk-taker" (The Plain Dealer, Cleveland),
and "simply spectacular" (International Music Foundation Website,
Chicago), Ukrainian-American pianist Marina Lomazov has established
herself as one of the most passionate and charismatic performers on
the concert scene.

February 19 - The Concerto for Piano and Orchestra: Who is the Boss?
Instructors: Emanuela Friscioni and Carl Topilow
An open rehearsal will show the audience how the soloist and the
conductor prepare themselves for a public performance. Various musical
examples will highlight the intriguing and complex aspects of
collaboration between these two stars of the Concerto.
