Cablemas Awarded Nine Additional Fixed Telephony Local Concessions in Mexico

MEXICO CITY, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Cablemas, S.A. de C.V., (Cablemas), the second largest cable television operator in Mexico based on number of subscribers and homes passed, today announced that in November and December, 2006 the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) granted the company fixed telephony local concessions in nine of the main cities in which it currently operates, in addition to the thirteen granted in July 2006.

These concessions will allow the company to add telephony to the suite of directly provided services, which already includes video and internet. To roll out telephony services in these cities, Cablemas will enter into interconnection agreements with telecommunications firms.
