Live Nation to Provide Concert Listings to Social Networking Music Website Last.fm
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Live Nation (NYSE:LYV), the world's leading live music company, today announced it has signed a deal with the internet's top social music network, Last.fm, agreeing to provide the popular music fan website with U.S. and Canadian concert information from LiveNation.com. The direct feed to Last.fm will give music fans instant access to concert information, as well as links to purchase tickets.
By connecting music fans' media players to the Last.fm database, Last.fm enables its 15 million users to receive recommendations on new music and concerts based on their listening preferences. Last.fm has a significant presence in the U.S., Canada, the UK and Europe, including the major music markets of France, Spain, Holland and Italy, all of which are markets in which Live Nation also has a strong presence.
