Jack Morton Worldwide Rings in 2007 with 3 High-Profile New Year's Experiences
Experiential Marketing Agency Helps Produce Celebrations for GM, The City of London and New York's New Governor
NEW YORK, Jan. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- New Year's is a time to celebrate and look ahead -- and global experiential marketing agency Jack Morton Worldwide set its sights on a successful 2007 by ringing in the New Year with a trio of high-profile public celebrations in the US and UK:
* At midnight in London, Jack Morton produced the spectacular New Year's
Eve countdown, culminating with a fireworks display over the River
Thames and British Airways London Eye that was seen by an estimated
150,000 in person and millions more on BBC One. This is the third such
New Year's spectacle that Jack Morton has produced for the Greater
London Authority. This year's celebration combined monumental
photographic projections of the dreams and aspirations of London's young
people together with fireworks by award-winning pyrotechnician
Christophe Berthonneau.
* A few hours later in New York's Times Square, Jack Morton helped General
Motors' Pontiac brand entertain the estimated 250,000 fans gathered for
the annual New Year's Eve ball drop with a live concert by the
groundbreaking bands My Chemical Romance, P.O.D. and Radiant, winner of
the Countdown to 1 emerging artist contest. The three bands played from
the Pontiac Garage Stage -- stories above Times Square -- and were
broadcast live on MTV and on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. Jack Morton is part
of a multi-agency team that manages and produces the Pontiac Garage
outdoor concerts.
* Finally, on New Year's Day in Albany, New York, Jack Morton supported
the unprecedented "people's inauguration" to mark the new administration
of Governor Eliot Spitzer. Jack Morton created event branding and design
for a public reception for over 10,000 attendees held in the underground
concourse of the Empire State Plaza. The reception featured exhibits,
performances and food showcasing New York's rich culture in a three-
block long underground space. In addition to giving the event a common
design vocabulary and theme, Jack Morton integrated activities that
invited and celebrated citizens, from commemorative photographs to a
"commitment wall" inviting citizens to express their wish for the state
to its new governor.
Josh McCall, Jack Morton Worldwide CEO, said: "We're honored and delighted to be helping such prestigious clients ring in the New Year -- and to be touching so many millions of viewers at public celebrations on both sides of the Atlantic."
