Hollywood Stars to Celebrate at First-Ever Golden Green Party

EMA and E! to Stage Golden Globe Awards Party with Focus on Environment

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- This year's Golden Globe Award winners will be going green on January 15 as they celebrate at the EMA & E! Golden Green Party Presented by Lexus @ 9900 Wilshire Beverly Hills. The party @ 9900 Wilshire Beverly Hills will be the first "green" party in the history of the Golden Globe Awards and is expected to attract environmentally-friendly Golden Globe winners, nominees, celebrities and high-profile industry executives. New Pacific Realty, owner and developer of 9900 Wilshire Beverly Hills, donated use of the site to the Environmental Media Association (EMA) for the Golden Globe Awards event to help raise awareness about green living and building green.

"Green living has become a way of life for many of today's celebrities," noted Debbie Levin, President of the EMA, "and we are proud to be the first ones to step up and create a party that unites talent and social responsibility. We are not only celebrating the best that Hollywood has to offer, but also their commitment to making a positive difference to our environment."

9900 Wilshire Beverly Hills is the perfect place for the Golden Green Party because the site, a former Robinsons-May department store, is being developed into the first luxury residential project of its kind in the Western United States to qualify for the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED(TM) (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold rating. Developer New Pacific was recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council-L.A. with its 2006 Visionary Leadership Award. 9900 Wilshire was also a winner of a 36th annual L.A. Architectural Award and a 2006 Urban Solutions Award.

Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Meier, 9900 Wilshire is sure to become one of the hottest addresses in the world, combining innovative, environmental technologies with landmark architecture. Meier is at home designing for celebrities, having created residences for Nicole Kidman, Martha Stewart and Calvin Klein, among others. Located at the western entrance to the City of Beverly Hills, 9900 Wilshire will set the standard for luxury and environmental sustainability.

The EMA and E! party being hosted at 9900 Wilshire will be a truly eco-friendly affair, incorporating gourmet organic food and recycled party materials and decorations, set in a landscape of sustainable plants and flowers. To promote the green message even further, Tree People will plant a tree for each attendee. Tree People is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the Los Angeles area for over three decades, helping nature heal cities by offering sustainable solutions to urban ecosystem problems.

"We are pleased to donate use of the site to the EMA charity to create the first Globes Green party in history," said David P. Margulies, chief executive officer of New Pacific Realty. "When Hollywood embraces Green, it helps to promote awareness around the world, and we are indeed pleased that so many have already planned to make their future residence at 9900 Wilshire."
