Screening of 'Bobby' Tied to Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, December 12 in Los Angeles

Filmmaker Emilio Estevez to Welcome Many Persons Who Were at the Ambassador Hotel the Night Robert F. Kennedy Was Shot

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Filmmaker Emilio Estevez will welcome many of the persons who were at the Ambassador Hotel on the tragic night Robert F. Kennedy was gunned down to take part in a town hall meeting on December 12, 2006. Prior to the discussion will be a special screening of the film BOBBY at the Egyptian Theater, 6712 Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles. During the meeting people will be encouraged to share their memories of what occurred that evening, June 4, 1968. Many notable people who were at the Ambassador Hotel that night have already made plans to attend including former four-term Los Angeles City Controller Rick Tuttle, who at the time was co-chair of Students for Robert Kennedy; Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers Union who, along with Cesar Chavez played a major role in the California Kennedy's primary campaign; Ruth Ashton Taylor, retired news reporter covering what was to be Kennedy's California primary election victory for KNXT-TV (Channel 2); Paul Schrade, former United Auto Workers Western Regional Director and one of 5 others who were shot that night; and numerous others are being contacted. David Bender, host of "Politically Direct," heard nationally on the Air America Radio Network will moderate the discussion. Bender was at the Ambassador Hotel that night as a 12 year-old volunteer on Robert F. Kennedy's presidential campaign.
