Musicnotes Download Sales Increase Nearly 50% During Post-Thanksgiving Shopping Period
MADISON, Wis., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Musicnotes, Inc., the market leader in downloadable sheet music, announced today a 48% year-over-year increase in digital sheet music sales during the first two weeks following Thanksgiving.
Sales of digital sheet music, now the majority of the company's sales, combined with the company's other products resulted in an overall sales increase of 44% versus the same opening Holiday shopping period last year.
In the first two weeks following Thanksgiving, including "Cyber Monday" on November 27, digital sheet music downloads have averaged almost 3,400 downloads per day. Although repeat buyers account for more than 50% of Musicnotes' sales, the company also added over 12,000 new customers during this two week period.
"We are in our peak season and consumers continue to discover the magic of downloadable sheet music and guitar tablature," said Musicnotes' Chairman, Tim Reiland. "With instant availability, we expect sales of Christmas music to stay strong through Christmas day."
In conjunction with this sales growth, Musicnotes also sold its two- millionth download during this period.
