Cowboys & Indians Magazine Welcomes the New Year With Val Kilmer
DALLAS, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Cowboys & Indians Magazine, The Premier Magazine of The West's January 2007 issue, on sale December 20, welcomes the New Year with a visit with actor Val Kilmer in exclusive shots from the set of the new CBS mini-series Comanche Moon. This prequel to the much-loved Lonesome Dove brings Val Kilmer -- audiences eager for more -- to network television. As director Simon Wincer -- yes, he also directed Lonesome Dove -- explains, "Comanche Moon is pure McMurtry: very endearing characters with witty scenes."
What would a New Year's issue be without a New Year's celebration -- the cowboy way? C&I takes you all over the west to find the best spots to celebrate and ring in 2007. To make the party float, C&I shares ten favorite champagnes for the perfect toast.
In the same issue we visit with two fine Taos artists -- Ed Sandoval and Ann Huston. Their paintings express distinct -- yet authentic -- visions of Northern New Mexico's landscape and rich cultural heritage.
Heading north -- and east -- into Northeastern Utah we meet the Northern Ute tribe as they work towards providing a vital future for themselves and their community while dealing with the demand for the lucrative resources found on their tribal lands.
In addition, C&I visits with cowboy star Monte Hale, the last of the Republic Picture's singing cowboys. We look at what's hot in western buckles and belts and check out C&I's list of great western movies that should have won Oscars. All this plus our plethora of departments and mini-features will make January's Cowboys & Indians, a warm reminder of the wonders of the West during the busy Holiday season.
