Phoebeworks Productions Announces Slate of Projects for 2007
Production Company to Develop Second Season of Critically Acclaimed 'Floaters' Online Sitcom and Launch New Programs in Development
NEW YORK, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Phoebeworks Productions, a leading provider of digital entertainment and lifestyle content, today announced its slate of projects for 2007. Phoebeworks will develop a second season of the highly successful Internet sitcom "Floaters," as well as launch several of the projects the company currently has under development.
Programming that has been in development and is slated for release on the Internet in 2007 includes:
* "Beauty Mark" -- Hosted by Emmy award-winning make-up artist Jovan
Vitagliano, viewers will get the latest beauty secrets and tips for
everything from applying make-up and diagnosing what you need, to
preparing for an interview and dressing for success.
* "Music Musings" -- The latest news and information from the world of
music, hosted by a variety of singers, songwriters and musicians.
* "Dirt Alert" -- Actress Tonya Canada will host this show that comments
on the latest tabloid headlines and Hollywood gossip.
* "Popcorn Club" -- A look at new movies coming out every week.
* "The Advisors" -- An interactive program that enables viewers to submit
questions to a panel of self-declared experts (a bartender, a
hairdresser, best friends and a mother/daughter duo) and get their
unscripted answers and unabashed opinions on a variety of topics
ranging from sex and marriage to work and travel.
* "Dance Knights: On The Road To The Nationals" -- A docu-series that
follows the Rutgers University dance team, the Scarlet Knights, to the
national collegiate championships in Daytona Beach, Florida. Viewers
will experience the highs and lows with an all-access pass as these
athletes prepare for the championships. Dance Knights will bring the
viewer behind the scenes as this underdog dance team performs and
practices for the competition. Many of the former members of the
Rutgers dance team who are featured in the series have gone on to
careers as professional dancers with professional sports teams such as
the Knicks, Nets and Pacers, as well as appeared in music videos, on
Broadway and in various national touring shows.
"Each of these shows is designed to provide viewers with engaging lifestyle and entertainment content in a fun and easy-to-digest way," said Mike Stickle, founder of Phoebeworks Productions and executive producer of the shows. "In addition, each series is being produced with the highest production standards to give viewers a quality viewing experience."
Phoebeworks is also releasing the "Floaters" soundtrack in early 2007, which will contain original music from the series by 24-year-old singer-songwriter Toby Donnelly. The soundtrack was produced in Nashville by music veterans Mike Thomas and Jerry Flowers, who have been producing albums and negotiating contracts for more than 30 years with artists such as Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton.
At the start of the 2006 television season, Phoebeworks produced and aired 75 webisodes of "Floaters," which was met with much enthusiasm by critics and audiences alike. The show follows the lives, romantic entanglements and professional struggles of three young women as they attempt to navigate their way in the real world. The three women -- Megan, Nisha and Erika -- work as temps in a New York advertising agency and share a walk-up apartment in Hell's Kitchen. With a nod to the highly successful "Sex and the City," "Floaters" offers a comedic slant on life's dramas relevant to women age 18-30.
