THINKFilm and FWE Picture Company Team With Consolidated Resorts on Groundbreaking Indie Film Promotion

'Funny Money' Opens January 19, 2007

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- THINKFilm and FWE Picture Company partner with Consolidated Resorts -- the largest timeshare operation in Hawaii -- for an unprecedented multi-million dollar indie film promotional campaign for "Funny Money," starring Chevy Chase, Penelope Ann Miller ("Carlito's Way"), Armand Assante ("The Mambo Kings," "Gotti"), Christopher McDonald ("The Perfect Storm," "Happy Gilmore"), and directed by Leslie Greif (exec. producer for "Gene Simmons: Family Jewels"). Radio and television spots featuring Miller are airing across the country, promoting the film's release on January 19, 2007, and a free getaway at Consolidated's five-star Las Vegas property, Tahiti Village Resort, as well as a chance to win a million dollars.

Anyone over 18 is eligible for the promotion, which includes a complimentary getaway of three days and two free nights. Participants enter by calling 877-834-2790 or visiting www.funnymoneymovie.com. The contest is also being promoted on the film's posters and promotional materials.

Michael Kaplan, co-chairman of Consolidated Resorts says, "Bringing well-known and talented artists like Chase and Miller together with our premier timeshare organization is an incredible opportunity for this groundbreaking campaign. We are able to reach out to their fan base, and in return, their fans receive the benefit of a free stay in our new Tahiti Village property. It is a win-win for both parties."

Executive producer Jeff Franklin says, "This is the first travel-related cross-promotion of its kind for an independent feature film. Consolidated Resorts has launched a multi-million dollar marketing and advertising campaign for 'Funny Money.' Radio and television spots featuring Miller have started airing across the country and will continue through the DVD release of the film."

Consolidated Resorts is also hosting the Las Vegas red carpet Premiere screening of the film on January 11th at the Orleans Theater.

Based on the smash-hit London play by Ray Cooney, "Funny Money" features also stars Oscar-nominated Robert Loggia ("Scarface"), Alex Meneses ("Auto Focus"), comedian Guy Torry ("American History X") and Kevin Sussman ("Ugly Betty," "Hitch").

The farce involves creature of habit Henry Perkins (Chase) who faithfully works at a wax fruit company run by Viagra-enhanced Sol Feldman (Loggia). When Perkins happens upon a briefcase of $5 million, he sees a golden opportunity to take the money and run. Attempting to convince his reluctant wife Carol (Miller) to skip town with him before rightful Romanian mafia-owner Mr. Big comes to claim his cash-filled "brerfcurse," and dirty cop Genero (Assante) figures out the plan, a comedy of errors ensues. Riddled with slapstick and precise comic timing, the film echoes throwback films like "The Pink Panther."

"Funny Money" opens January 19, 2007 in seven cities, including Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Phoenix.
