Adelphia Is Now Comcast in Colorado Springs and Trinidad
Name Change Marks Introduction of New and Enhanced Products and Services
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast is officially introducing itself to Colorado Springs and Trinidad residents who previously were served by Adelphia Cable with the unveiling of new signs and logos on its buildings, service vehicles and employee uniforms. Today's announcement is another step in the transition following the August 1 acquisition of former Adelphia Cable systems.
"We are excited to unveil the Comcast brand in Colorado Springs and Trinidad," said Jim Commers, vice president and general manager for Comcast in Southern Colorado. "We've been making operational improvements, upgrading the high-speed Internet service and network reliability, and offering service hours that better fit our customer's needs. Today, customers will begin to see the face of their new entertainment, information and communications provider."
Today's branding change in Colorado Springs will include the unveiling of the Comcast logo on service vehicles and employees' uniforms, with building signage transitioning over the coming weeks. Similar branding changes will begin in Trinidad today and continue through the end of the year.
The brand change and transition to Comcast services are part of the planned $20 million investment Comcast will make in the Colorado Springs area to improve the customer experience.
Last week, high-speed Internet customers in Colorado Springs began surfing the Web even faster at no additional charge with an increase in download speeds to 6 megabits per second from 4 Mbps. Early next year, Digital Cable customers in Colorado Springs will be upgraded to Comcast's signature ON DEMAND service that offers more than 8,000 programs each month.
Comcast also will open a call center in Colorado Springs in early 2007 that eventually will employ 300 people. In addition, Comcast already is investing in its network in and around Colorado Springs to continually improve its reliability and provide an even stronger backbone for enhanced video-on-demand, high-definition television and high-speed Internet services, along with the upcoming launch of Comcast Digital Voice in Colorado Springs.
