QVC Executives Take on New Roles in Key Management Positions

QVC Executives Take on New Roles in Key Management Positions

WEST CHESTER, Pa., Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective today, the previously announced promotion of Bob Ayd to the position of executive vice president of Merchandising and chief merchandising officer will take effect as part of the succession plan for executive vice president and chief merchandising officer Randy Ronning, who is retiring in January. Together, Ayd and Bob Myers, who was recently promoted to senior vice president of QVC.com, will assume the responsibilities previously held by Ronning.

The executive changes are as follows:

-- Randy Ronning will retire in January 2007. During his six years with
the company, Ronning has been responsible for the following
departments: QVC.com, information services, market research and
sales analysis, new business development, marketing, affiliate sales
and marketing, and merchandising. Prior to QVC, Ronning spent more
than 30 years at JCPenney.

-- Bob Ayd has been promoted to executive vice president of
merchandising and chief merchandising officer. In this position, Ayd
will be responsible for all aspects of the merchandising division for
the company, including merchandise buying, product design, global
sourcing, vendor relations and brand development. Previously, Ayd
held the position of senior vice president of design, development and
global sourcing, and was formerly senior vice president of QVC's
fashion, jewelry and beauty divisions. Prior to joining QVC, Ayd
spent more than 20 years at Macy's.

-- Bob Myers has been promoted to senior vice president of QVC.com. In
this newly created position, Myers will be responsible for setting
the online strategic direction for all aspects of QVC.com, QVC's on-
line marketing efforts, and the company's promotional e-mail program.
Myers, who serves on the executive committee of the board of
directors for Shop.org, previously held the position of vice
president of merchandising for QVC.com. Prior to joining QVC, he
spent more than 14 years at JCPenney.

Mike George, QVC's president and CEO, had the following comments: "These changes reflect our evolution as a world leader across all electronic retailing platforms. We're going to miss Randy's leadership, industry knowledge and vision. Under his leadership, QVC.com has grown to become one of the most successful retail sites on the Internet. Randy also built strong vendor relationships and added important prestige brands and new proprietary lines to our product mix. I appreciate Randy's willingness to stay at QVC for the next few months and help with the transition."

George continued, "Bob Ayd is the right man to succeed Randy as the top merchant at QVC. After 11 years with QVC, Bob knows our business, and has an instinctive understanding of what resonates with our customers. His track record of business accomplishments is impressive. Just as importantly, with every role he's taken on, Bob has developed excellent relationships within QVC and throughout the vendor community. He's always been respected for his merchandising skills, but he's also proven to be an extremely effective leader.

George concluded, "Bob Myers is a great complement to our leadership team. In the last few years, QVC.com has staked out a leadership position in Internet retailing, and Bob has been an integral part of that success. Moving forward, QVC.com will continue to be an engine for our overall growth, and I am confident of Bob's ability to lead that charge."
