SILVER SPRING, Md., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- WORLDSPACE(R) Satellite Radio (NASDAQ:WRSP), one of the world leaders in satellite-based digital radio services, today announced it will be broadcasting from the Virgin Festival at Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore. WORLDSPACE's UPop (channel 29) will be broadcasting live reports from the festival as well as exclusive backstage interviews all day Saturday, September 23. WORLDSPACE will also carry Virgin Festival coverage via "U-Podcasts" at WORLDSPACE.com/virginfestival, and will feature recorded playback throughout the month on Bob (channel 177), Spin (channel 44), and Voyager (channel 11). UPop is also available in the United States on XM Satellite Radio (channel 29). The world-renowned Virgin Festival, sponsored by Virgin Mobile, is held each summer in the United Kingdom but for the first time in its history will be taking place in the United States.
