NEW YORK, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- It may be the last place in the world that you'd think you'd find women who need to lose weight, but this year, the fifty-one married women who competed for the title of "Mrs. America" spent months preparing for the contest by losing weight to get in tip top shape for the beauty competition. And believe it or not, 17 of this year's Mrs. America contestants lost over 120 pounds and 119 inches between them (and up to 9 to 13 pounds each). The women are also adamant that their participation was more about health than looking like a model on a magazine cover, especially with the recent statistics on obesity in this country and the potential health risks of being overweight. They want to be an inspiration for good health to working wives and mothers.
Prior to the contest, these married beauty queens from 17 states agreed to participate in a virtual weight loss program designed by Erik Ledin, CSCS, CISSN, of Lean Bodies Consulting, Inc. which included proper nutrition, the right dietary supplements and a customized exercise program. Adding the dietary supplement, NV(TM), to the program met with certain skepticism given the reputation of diet pills and Dr. Donnica Moore agrees that everyone should be concerned if they think they can lose weight just by taking a pill. She confirms the science behind NV(TM) that helps burn fat, increases calorie usage and includes an appetite suppressant, Hoodia, to help fight cravings when used with proper nutrition and exercise.
See the slimmed down contestants on the Women's Entertainment Network (WE-TV) Mrs. America Special on Saturday, September 23rd at 8pm with rebroadcasts that same evening at 10pm and on Sunday, September 24th at 6pm. This special was taped for broadcast on September 6th in Tucson, Arizona.
PARTICIPATING WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM MRS. AMERICA CONTESTANTS WERE FROM COLORADO, CONNECTICUT, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, FLORIDA, IDAHO, IOWA, KANSAS, MICHIGAN, MISSOURI, NEBRASKA, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, NORTH CAROLINA, NORTH DAKOTA, OREGON, VIRGINIA, AND WEST VIRGINIA.
With a primary focus on women's needs, NV(TM) encourages women to be healthy, empowered and confident. NV(TM)'s three unique, all-natural complexes help women lose weight by supporting fat loss and appetite suppression, look radiant by improving the health of hair, skin and nails, and feel dynamic by increasing energy levels throughout the day.
